Q Nails — Attraction in Atlanta

I HATE writing negative reviews, but I feel this is a must. I called on a Sunday @ 4:30 to see what time they closed and was told 5:30. I get there at 5 the door is locked and the open sign is off. A man opens the door and said "what you need?" I tell him and he says okay sit down. He does my nails SUPER fast, clearly in a rush because at this point he has about 8 people that walked in behind me, so he's trying to get to them as quick as possible, so they can close, which I understand. He polishes my nails and 4 of them have A LOT of bubbles and the polish has swirls in it. I tell the guy who was doing my feet and he argued me down that I touched something. My nails are hot pink, if I touched something you would see hot pink somewhere. But of course you didn't, because I didn't touch anything. So he fixes them, I pay ($40, tip included) and later that day with me just laying in bed I find 2 of my nails to be broken. I come back the next day at 12:00, he says "long nails break easy, I told you that. You still have to pay to get them fixed." It's funny how they're jokey jokey when everything is okay, but when you have an issue the jokes go out the door and they treat you like you just weren't a paying customer LESS THAN 24 HOURS AGO!! I should've known to go elsewhere when another young lady walked in and had a problem and said "everytime I come here it's something, I won't be back." I now have learned my lesson. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! I have been coming here since 2007 when I moved to atlanta to attend CAU. 14 years. I went to the shop to get my nails done, and the brother looked at me and told me to leave his shop and that he was refusing my service. I asked him what he was talking about, and he said “no you’re trouble, ghetto, please leave.” I was shocked, confused, embarrassed, and livid all at the same time!! ALL BLACK PEOPLE DO NOT LOOK ALIKE! For me to be a 10+ year customer and for them to confuse me with whatever person they had a negative experience with was BEYOND unfair. I attempted to ask him what he was referring to, and to explain that he must have me confused with another woman, but he wouldn’t even hear me out. I’ve never experienced something so rude and embarrassing in my LIFE, especially after spending THOUSANDS of dollars here over the past fourteen years!!!! THEY DO NOT TRULY CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS!!! If I had a bad experience with a patron, I would be SURE to remember what they look like so that I could CORRECTLY identify them if they ever returned. The brother did not care at all. It is clear to me that MY COMMUNITY is what’s keeping them in business, and they don’t even care about us. They believe all black people look alike. They believe it is okay to treat people poorly without taking the proper steps to ensure that the person they are degrading is the same person that disrespected their business. This shop was recommended to me by a friend and I was extremely disappointed with the services I received. I came in to get a fill-in with gel and 2 accent nails for my design. The fill-in was way too thick and the design was awful. All I asked for was a line through the middle with a rhinestone at the bottom. Simple enough, but apparently not. I did not have time to wait for the nail tech to do everything over so I said I’ll be back tomorrow for repairs. When I arrived today to get the 2 accent nails fixed, I not only had to wait for almost 2 hours, I was then told I would be charged for fixing my accent nails once I sat in the nail techs chair. Keep in mind, I paid extra the day before for my designs. So not only did it take two hours for them to fix 2 nails, they also wanted to double charge me to fix my two accent nails, and refused to give me a refund when I told them I no longer wanted a design and to just keep my nails plain without the design. The reason they gave for not giving me a refund for the 2 accent nails was simply “you already paid for the design yesterday” which is my point for wanting a refund. Needless to say, my friend who recommended the shop was saddened at the treatment I received and she too has decided to never visit this shop again.
