In December I decided that even though it seemed rushed, my girlfriend Cassie of 7 years (now fiancée) deserved a ring instead of just flowers for our anniversary. I had no idea where to start so I decided to go with Monahan’s since their catchy jingle from the commercial was stuck in my head, and they are locally owned. From the moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted by Jenica, who immediately made me feel comfortable and valued as a customer (not the normal sales vibe where they tell you what you want to hear)… I held my hand out and said look how nasty my fingers look from hard work, most people making the sale would have said no they look great… not Jenica, she laughed and said I’m sure they clean up nice and suggested I put them in my pockets so no one else could see them.. I made the last part up. But seriously, it felt genuine from the start.

I brought my now fiancée with me because I wanted to make sure I had an idea of what she would like. Jenica took the time to understand what she was looking for, and offered me a beer while they talked (that brought a tear to my eye). She patiently talked through various options, explaining the differences in quality, style, and craftsmanship. Her knowledge and passion for jewelry were evident, and her recommendations were thoughtful rather than pushy.

Now Cassie had picked out a couple of rings she liked it was time to discuss budget with Jenica. She told Cassie to go look around the store at other stuff (I was thinking waiting in the truck sounded like a better idea to me since I’m already poor) . Jenica encouraged me to take my time as this was a huge decision. Thanks to her expertise, I found the perfect piece, and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. 3 weeks later I actually went back and upgraded to a larger stone and upgraded ring with diamond setting. (I probably didn’t use the right wording but I got her something reeeeelllly nice)

The entire experience was seamless, from selection to checkout, and the customer service was truly top-notch. Financing was available with a no interest option. I will definitely return for future purchases and highly recommend Monahans especially if you have the chance to work...

Amazing place, great people, superb service. Prices are great too. For the uninitiated, never buy jewelry at big box/mall shops because you will always be made to pay full retail. Local shops give you good deals, but Monahan is above and beyond. I have purchased a number of things here, and I am not a wealthy person by any means. They are very fair to deal with. The quality of jewelry is top notch, and they are primarily there to serve their customers, not just turn a fast buck like a lot of places. The owner is usually there and he is a really fun and pleasant fellow. The employees are pleasant, helpful, patient, and want you to have the right piece. They do great repairs - I have had watches fixed, rings resized, stones reset in new bands, and new stones put into old bands. Timely turn around on all the work, which is consistently flawless. I went to Monahan's looking for an engagement ring based on word of mouth that this was the place to go. Everyone was right, my experience was stellar. This was the first serious piece of jewelry I've ever puchased so naturally I was nervous and had a lot of questions. The staff at Monahan's are all very knowledgable and eager to help. They explain the jewelry in simple to understand terms which is very helpful when purchasing a diamond because of all of the different weights, cuts, colors and clarities. During some of my visits, I did have to wait a short while, but this was not an issue as this should be expected when you yourself expect the staff's undivided attention and service.
