I am a big fan of Michael Bublé and was thrilled to see that he was returning to Atlantic City and perform a concert for some of his previous concerts that were canceled due to Covid. Purchased tickets about a month prior to the show had everything in place. Concerts started at 8 PM. When I purchased the tickets, the web site encouraged you use the parking that’s under the Boardwalk Hall. Instructions at the time of purchasing the tickets the directions to get to the under building parking was pretty simple. We arrived in our car At 7 PM approximately four blocks from the Hall. That’s streets north south and west of the Music Hall Were jammed To the point that the cars weren’t even moving. heading toward the underground parking in all directions. I saw only one female cop at the intersection at Mississippi Street that would move one car length approximately every five or 10 minutes everyone was heading to the same location . After approximately 40 minutes finally we were heading toward the entrance of the Hall to the parking ramp. The car 🚙 heading toward the parking ramp. Everyone was lined up going to the the parking lot that was filled and these hundreds of cars were heading to a place where there was no place to park. No one from the venue informed anyone. We actually went through the entire tunnel underneath the building came out the other side and had another 15 minutes to try to get out we headed to Caesars parking lot which was approximately 3 blocks and with most of the other cars in the same situation. We found parking on practically the top floor. At this point it was already about 8:05pm. We exited the parking and started heading over to boardwalk hall which was about three blocks away but in the meantime a rain storm had come our way and everybody was walking and running through pouring rain heading toward the musical Hall We finally got in and got our seats Michael had already song one song But we were frazzled along with other fans of Michael Bublé. The concert was good but the whole parking situation was a disgrace. I will never attend another venue again. We could not believe that the city of Atlantic City was not at all prepared or not at all even there to help the drivers and the parking situation. That whole thing was a disgrace and should have never happened. Not sure who is responsible for the parking in the garage and informing Concert goers that the parking was full
Atlantic City has a lot of trouble and problems and these type of issues will keep people from returning. Definitely needs to be addressed by whoever is in charge parking for the venues what they need to do something about...
Read moreBeing a local I have attended many events here at Boardwalk Hall and tonight’s experience has been the worse! We arrived for AEW event. Parking super high (cash only) prices but it’s to be expected if you want to be close. But there is definitely some room for important in other areas. Before coming to the event, BWH announced that masks were required to attend and must be worn at all times expect while actively eating or drinking. Users were even “handing” them out (while not properly wearing their own). As soon as your ticket was scanned people were completely removing them! Not ONE employee was enforcing the policy! Why have a policy of it’s not going to be enforced?
Second, the check bag / security metal detectors scanning was a joke. The scanner was beeping so much I’m surprised the batteries didn’t die. But was any of those pockets, wastes etc checked ? Nope! No large bags? Right. People were walking in with full-size backpacks and just opening it a little for a half glance in. Not very reassuring others we are safe.
Third, as we arrive to our seats, usher explains the seats aren’t in order (the numbers on the underside) so she counted to ours. We were in a accessible seating. Chairs were right on top of each other not leaving any room for wheelchairs at all. A veteran and his wife were seated next to us and the usher insisted he had to sit at his ticketed seat. His scooter was not going to fit. As the couple became more anxious and the usher being completely useless and not helping, I jumped in and explained we had an extra seat due to one of our guests couldn’t attend the event. We could remove their chair and his so his scooter could fit. They were extremely grateful. The ushers wanted to enforce a veteran in a wheelchair to sit in his assigned paid seat, but yet 20 minutes into the show multiple people were allowed to come and go in the spare chairs on the other side of us without being asked to move, or have their tickets checked. They were seated higher in stands before the show started.
Last, it didn’t surprise me that since they weren’t enforcing the mask policy that the no smoking policy was not going to be enforced either. People just smoking away on their e-cigarettes, regular cigarettes and even happy green of Mary and Jane!
Over all our expectations aren’t ever really high for BWH but I guess any expectation other then high prices is...
Read more1st time visitor to Jim Whelan's Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ. Went here on Saturday, May 11, 2024, for a Mother's Day concert. Silk, Dru Hill, SWV, and Kem performed. The show started at 7p.m. abd they were only a couple minutes past 7 p.m. getting started. I couldn't believe the size of this place. It's a huge arena. There is parking underneath the building which was very convenient. We paid $40 to park, and we entered the building and took escalators up to the first floor, never having to go outside where it was quite chilly. Upstairs, security had us put our handbags on the table as we walked through metal detectors. We had floor seats in section 2, which was dead center from the stage. They had several staff to assist people in finding their seats. Upstairs on the 2nd floor were all of the concession stands, for food and drinks. And the restrooms were on the 2nd level as well. There was a vendor who was selling jewelry and she had some pretty nice stuff. There was a Smoothie stand, a popcorn stand and pretzels were available too. I saw a PJ Whelians, and other places that sold food but I didn't make any food purchases because I wasn't hungry. Later, I wished that I had at least purchased a bottle of water because I got very thirsty during the show. It was a great space and I believe it was a sold out show. Certain ticket purchases were eligible for the VIP AFTERPARTY, which ran from 11PM-3AM. Our tickets were eligible, but we were ready to leave when the show was over so we didn't bother. We purchased our tickets through Ticketmaster for the show at $160.00 each. We stayed in the Hampton Inn in Absecon for 2 nights, coming down on Friday, 5/10 and checking out on Sunday, 5/12. It was only a 15 minute drive to Boardwalk Hall and a great show. We tried to get brunch at Kelcey's on Sunday but they had a line outside the door, so we decided against it because it was lightly raining already! ALL IN ALL, a nice Mother's Day and the first time I've been to...
