Our stay at this establishment was very distasteful. The pictures from the website were very deceiving and looked much nicer than what we walked into. There was garbage on the floor outside walking to and from the room with may I add a scent of urine by one of the staircases for now a day of out stay which is still there. For starters, our bathroom had womens hair on the floor and all intertwined in our rags and towels (Even when we requested new ones at the front desk). The air conditioner for the room had a foul odor, a mildew smell. There is also mildew on the ceiling of the bathrooms which is also unsafe for me, my girlfriend and especially her 9 year old daughter which is ridiculously unsafe if you ask me. On the way out we noticed behind the door was a white dried up substance on the wall. Can’t quite tell whether or not its saliva or bodily fluid and I will gladly report this to public safety and health services. We have pictures and videos showing every detail we stated in this complaint. Also, we left our room service tag on the outside of the door as we left and came back 4 hours later with the room service tag was on the floor and our room was unkept. The 2nd day we left the tag on the door again and the room was not cleaned. The used towels and rags that we left in a pile on the floor were still there and our beds not made which we cleared the beds and the room so that housekeeping could easily make up the room to perform their job. This was a very terrible experience at an establishment that claims to be a hotel when you should classify yourselves as a motel due to your lack of customer service, uncleanliness and poor upkeep of your rooms. I would not think twice to ever come back here to stay. I reported them to Choice hotels and they couldn’t help. I reported them to the better business bureau I got a call saying they would issue me a refund and never got it. I notified the better business bureau they told me they couldn’t do anything because no one at the hotel...
Read moreThe room, bed and bathroom was decent and the front desk staff were polite and helpful, however, there were several problems with my stay.
The phone in my room did not work, so when I needed something I could not ring the front desk. I had to call the hotel from my cell phone to speak to them.
The breakfast was horrible. The eggs had no flavor, I think were made from a mix, not cracked out of a shell. The sausage tasted like cardboard embedded with lots of salt. I took an apple which looked fine from the outside, but when I bit into it it was completely brown and rotten throughout, so I spit that out. There was only sliced white bread. There was only one choice of blueberry muffin, which was packaged, super cheap and tasted horrible. Some other choices of breads and muffins and maybe oranges and bananas would have been nice. The waffles were okay, they were the only thing that was not awful, but no maple syrup, only high fructose corn syrup. The coffee machine kept spilling coffee all over (for myself and anyone else who went to get coffee). There was no juice or beverage other than coffee or tea. I only ate yogurt and some raisin bran each day.
There was no safe in the room. Since the rooms are easily accessible from the outside, I would have felt more secure if I could lock my laptop or any valuables in a safe.
The room was quite cold, so I had to keep the heat on set to 80 on the thermostat, just to keep the room at a bearable 72 degrees.
The main reason I booked is to be near the Tropicana Casino, which is is right across the street from, so that was convenient. The staff were pleasant and helpful, no complaints there. Just don't think you are really getting breakfast included. You are getting some coffee, cold cereal, Danon yogurt and maybe waffles (which you make yourself, but that's okay). Don't touch the fruit, eggs or sausage, you...
Read moreAesthetically the property needs a face lift. Let's begin with the face of the property: front desk/check-in area. The space is small and no air conditioner. The employee was professional and somewhat friendly.
Parking is a disaster and has a daily cost! The spots are extremely narrow with the exception of the side parking on Belmont Ave (S). If you are lucky enough to secure a spot here and keep it, you're fine. If you park adjacent to the hotels check-in area (Pacific Ave), the spots are narrow AND two cars must be parked in one spot (one behind another). The same applies if you park closer to the side of the pool (Iowa Ave (S). I parked in a handicap spot and was told I had to move my vehicle up more so another vehicle could fit. Then I proceeded to question how the heck I would move my car especially in an emergency! After inquiring with the employee it was suggested that they simply call the owner of the vehicle assuming they are staying at the property and placed their parking card on their dash.
The elevator is super tiny and the stairs are scary with one having very little light. Again, aesthetically the property needs a face lift.
The rooms are fine. My room was a non-smoking however it smelled like cigarettes. My room had a refrigerator. The bathroom was fine. There is a full mirror in between the sink and bathroom which looks like a two-way mirror. I may watch too many crime shows but it made me uncomfortable to stand in front of it.
One morning I was awaken by banging on my door. It was no one I knew. I called the front desk to alert them however no one came to check it out or follow up. The man ended up leaving and not returning.
Honestly, this property has potential if some TLC was put into it, parking was reconfigured. Close proximity to the beach and boardwalk. Car ride to the outlets is about...
