This has quickly become my go-to spot in Atlantic City. Everything you could want for a fun night is here. Mechanical bull, beer pong, arcade games, slots, table games, live music, cheap drinks, and food.
It's a huge open room with an additional side room that has even more slots ("Coyote Kate's Slot Parlour"). In the large room are a couple bars, Guy's BBQ Joint, AC Snack Shack, Mountain Bar, a huge stage, and a scattering of slots, table games, and arcade games.
I'll start with the decoration. True to the name it's designed like the Wild Wild West. The walls are adorned with old western style buildings, there's mountains and steam trains above the aptly named Mountain Bar. It's really cool and very hard to describe without seeing it in person.
As for games - I've never ridden the mechanical bull so I can't speak on that. There aren't many slots here, although there are a few, but if you want a bigger selection go into the adjacent room. They have both virtual and real table games here. They also have some regular arcade games scattered around - a punching bag machine, Big Buck Hunter, and some huge oversized games on big screens mounted to the walls such as Connect 4. In the beer pong area, they have a bunch of tables set up where you can play. A beer pong "kit" comes with cups and two small water bottles to fill them, along with a pitcher of beer to drink. If you go domestic it's $12, "import" is $15. After that, if you show your receipt pitcher refills are only $6. It's a large pitcher.
If you're not gambling or don't want to order drinks from the machines while you're playing, the best place to get them is Mountain Bar. It's right in the same room and has $3.25 beers and $4 shots among other drinks. These prices are active always. Probably the best price you'll find for drinks aside from the free ones you can order while gambling.
I haven't gotten food from Guy's BBQ Joint, but the menu looked tasty, boasting various BBQ meats that you can order on a sandwich or platter as well as the usual sides. We went with the "No Shame" from AC Snack Shack which was tasty.
The stage in here is huge, and the sound system is immense. It's always fun - the bands aren't always the best, but you'll have fun regardless.
Overall, it's a great place to go if you want an...
Read moreThe Bally's Wild West Casino is not even a fraction of what it used to be. At one time the wild west Saloon would be rocking with live bands and filled up from corner to corner. Small electronic trains would be going around the bar. No more of that. As soon as you would walk into the area from the boardwalk, there was the automated old time miner and his trusted donkey searching for gold while up above you can see the moon plus lightning and Thunder. No more of that. They had table games and slot machines from one end of the Wild West Casino to what was Coyote Kate's. No more of that. Not to mention they had at one time the best buffet in all of Atlantic City, the Virginia City buffet, boy did my family and I look forward to going there. No more of that. I guess progress called for removal of these old Wild West type themes, but for this long time visitor of Bally's and Atlantic City, this area of Bally's will never ever be the same and is now a major disappointment. If anything I walk through there, and it's very depressing compared to what...
Read moreThis is a fun little place with a couple bars inside. We attend annual private parties at the bar that are hosted by our organization while attending a convention at Caesars and have no complaints. There are live bands on weekends and there is a party atmosphere. The theme and decor is fun and gives it a Vegas feel. It appears to be under extensive renovation at the current time with a partition wall blocking off quite a bit of the floor and hall at the moment. If you've never been here, they've essentially turned a hallway and extra space between two main casino hotels into bars and gaming areas with a stage. It's themed like a set of an old western movie and feels a lot like stepping onto a...
