My family dined at the Rain Forest Cafe on Wednesday July 24th. I booked through open table, reservation at 6pm. The waitress was nice, no real issues with her. We placed an order for two adult entrees and 1 kids meal, being that we figured my 5 & 2 year old could share. About 10 minutes in, we decided to order a kids meal for our 2 year old and just take home the leftovers if needed. Maybe another 10-15 minutes pass and we are still waiting for our food. The restaurant seemed busy but we were seeing everyone else around us getting food but our kids were entertained with the atmosphere, which was great! So we just decided to wait it out. We were sitting across from the kitchen. At one point a tray of food was coming out and a plate fell in the doorway and the expo employee brought everything back in the kitchen. My husband jokingly said “that was probably our dinner!” 5 minutes later our server came over and confirmed it was our dinner and that it was my meal that fell. ( my husband and I have worked in the restaurant industry for 10+ years so we understand things like this happen ) I said that’s fine but can you bring out the rest of the food that was on the tray so my can start eating? As by now it’s been about 45 minutes and my kids were getting tired. She brings out my husbands meal and my 5 year olds meal and says they are still waiting on the pizza. (In my head I’m like I know we ordered it after our original order was placed, but how long does a kids pizza take to be made? And my 2 year olds side was apple sauce, she didn’t even offer to bring that out for him as he is a little kid, for him to eat something) my 5 year olds entree was the pasta with marinara and a side of fruit. The pasta and marinara was so dry, it looked like it was sitting out for an hour. My husbands steak was cooked well instead of medium rare and it wasn’t even hot. I told him you’re spending $40 on your meal you deserve to have it the way you wanted it cooked and hot! So I called the server back and he told her the issues with his food and requested it to be remade. She then told me my 2 year olds pizza was finally ready but it was burnt so she requested the kitchen remake it. At this point my meal finally came out and was fine, thank god. My husband took our children to the bathroom and at this point I finally found a manager. I explained everything to him and I’m surprised first off that he didn’t even know our table was having so many issues. As a server, I feel this should have been mentioned to the manager since it was more than 1 issue. I told him that we can even eat dinner as a family because food is coming out wrong and all different times. He said that it sounds like there is an issue with the chef and he would go take care of it. He finally came back with our server with the rest of our food and made sure all was ok before he left. We finished dinner and my 5 year old wanted the ice cream sandwich dessert. We ordered that, the cup of dirt, and the key lime pie. This took about another 10 minutes and the server brings it over and says she didn’t charge us for the $3 ice cream sandwich … uh thanks? After all we had to deal with, that was it? We finished our dessert? Paid the $122 bill and left. Even though we were on vacation, we have been here before and unfortunately will...
Read moreLet me start by saying this was one of the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant and this is coming from a restaurant manager. We traveled over 100 miles to come here for my sons 9th birthday pouring rain terrible weather, and we walked in we were not greeted immediately and let’s start with the host. She was a black older woman with puffy hair. She was extremely rude ignorant she rolled her eyes When she asked how many people were in the party and proceeded to say she couldn’t help us roller her eyes and walked away we stood at the whole stand for a good 15 minutes with no answers and no response. Finally, somebody else came and explained to us that they can try to get a seat because we didn’t have a reservation so I then went online and made a reservation and the lady that was rude told me it couldn’t be honored very Confusing as she walked away again, rolling her eyes so then we finally get to sit down. They sit at two separate tables. One of the chairs are broken, wobbly our waiter Teresa she was amazing. Let’s start there. If it wasn’t for her. We wouldn’t have stayed we would’ve sent all of the food back. It was disgusting over cooked burnt the only thing that we enjoyed where the Korean lettuce wraps, the burger and the three pastas The lack of service pretty much ruined The experience and Teresa turned around the entire thing The manager did come over and ask if we wanted to sit together because crazy thing is other people in the restaurant we’re having the same issues we were having with your host so at that time we politely declined and we would stay at two separate tables because at this point we’ve already been waiting over 45 minutes to be served Teresa Did an amazing job. She has a great personality. She’s very knowledgeable about the menu. She was very apologetic and she tried to do everything she could to take care of us and make my son‘s birthday turned around and I really appreciate that from her Thanks again, Teresa for going out of your way and doing an amazing job for me and my family our check was over $500 And for us to be treated like that from your host is completely unacceptable and as a restaurant manager, She needs to be talked to about her attitude, and if she doesn’t wanna speak to people hosting is not her job she needs to work in the kitchen I even signed up for rewards program just for Teresa so the manager did come over and give me the card and he said that he took off the volcano birthday for troubles Lol , teresayou are amazing girl don’t let nobody take that away from you❤️ and just so we make it clear the five stars is for...
Read moreThe biggest joke about this place is how they pretend to care after you habe a bad experience. They make you send a bunch of different emails about your experience, telling you how much they care and someone will contact you to discuss your situation. 4 feels later and I still haven't heard anything from anyone. This place is horrible
Do not waste your money! Everything was horrible. We had a reservation and still ended up waiting 30 minutes for a table. Our waitress was mid sentence telling us about a dish, stopped dropped the menu and left. We didn't see her for a long while. We ordered water and drinks in souvenir cups-we had to ask 2 times for our drinks. I ordered a mojito and it wasnt strained. Just huge chunks of mint leaves filling the entire bottom of the glass. We were served an appetizer that was not ours. Our entrees were missing sides, cooked wrong and definitely not worth the price we paid for them. Our waitress didn't show back up after dropping the food off so we had to flag down someone else to get our food fixed. At the end the waitress comes over and starts hustling for us to sign up for a rewards card that you have to pay for, telling you that you earned rewards on, but you can't you use them for 24 hrs. Can't use them towards your bill or the gift shop. After the waitress gives me the whole pitch for the card, I tell her No and she replies by telling me to talk to my husband and then walks away. Ignoring the fact that I asked for the check. At the same time, one of the managers stopped my husband on his way back from the bathroom and starts pushing him to sign up. And the absolute worse part was the cleanliness. There was NONE. the silver ware had dried food stuck to it, the one water glass had floaters in it, and the plates were greasy. The worst was the women's restroom. 1 stall was broken, 1 had urine all over the seat and ground, and the handicapped stall had feces all over the seat, handle and wall behind it. The soap dispenser was ripped off the wall and the entire counter was covered in soap. So you could not wash your hands. For a restaurant that's owned by a huge corporation, the food was not worth the price, the service was horrible and it was a biohazard. Not the meal I wanted while trying to celebrate my...
