The mall is a great place to go with ur friends or family, the food court and stores are good except for this bad experience.... So yesterday we experienced an uncomfortable and Racist experience i would like to share with you and let the voice be heard and the person known. At the Aurora fox valley Mall they have a carousel. Which my daughter took my son for a ride, few moments later my daughter came back with my son crying, they were told she couldnt ride with him since she was still a minor. So i went there and spoke spanish to the lady since she had all the Hispanic looks, and she responded she didnt speak spanish. Which ok i understand my bad, many people do look latin and dont speak spanish, so i apologize and spoke again to her in english. So i took the token to go into the other side of carousel entrance. When my daughter stood there and she said to the lady waiting in line behind her, if she would buy her token, then the Worker there said.. she would not accept her token if my daughter gave it to her. Inmddiatelty thats racist! She is no one to say that shes did it on purpose to denteriorate a person. So when i got off the ride, i approached to the worker again and said look lady i know you speak spanish, and i know you are doing in it on purspose just because you think you have the pants here in this carousel, since you claim you are the "manager" well what a wonderful customer service expeience you have!!. I will report you for your bad service and your discrimination . You couldve been so kind to give us a refund on a token, what is there to loose? Nothing another person was going to use it, but for you, well maybe you couldve lost dignity and maybe some of your manners, since there is none. Please pass the voice and repost this in your wall. So this lady gets reported she shouldnt be working on a kids ride to begin with. Especially with that kind of...
Read moreI do like to shop here occasionally, but I came here last December and did not have a great experience with the lady working at the Mia's Wish.
Here's the thing, the store itself is great but the lady working was super annoying! I kept telling her that I know what I want and don't need her help, but she just kept on showing me more of the products that I didn't even want, and when I was checking out, she kept on asking "Have you seen this? Have you ever seen this product before?" which I find to be pretty pathetic and not taking her job too seriously. Like this is not how most employees treat their customers, but the good side about the store is that even though the lady working was not the best, she still checked out the products I actually wanted instead of what she was trying to suggest. None of the other places I've been to have ever gave me this type of harassment and treatment. I hope the next time I come back to the Mia's Wish, she will be fired.
The JCPenney on the other hand is super outdated looking. Too many burnt out fluorescent tubes, running low on products according to what I saw last December when I shopped here. Hopefully as of today, they stocked up more on the products and are affordable. At least unlike the Mia's Wish here, the cashier checking out our products was actually helpful and not demanding me to buy more products that I don't even want. Very convenient and very helpful.
Food court could most definitely use some more custodians to keep more clean and spotless in the morning. Last time I was here, I saw food and trash laying all over the floor and not in where they are supposed to be disposed.
The majority games at Round1 are very simple to operate and play. One thing I would like fixed is the Mario Kart Arcade. Man is it hard to steer left and right in the game it almost makes it entirely...
Read moreIt's the only mall in the area, so I can't exactly complain. The two things that I will say, though, is this:
The apartment/condo building or whatever they're putting up in large parts of their parking lot IS A MESS. I don't know how they think they're going to have enough space for cars driving through the outer circle of the parking lot AND still have enough space to have a way for cars to drive around whatever it is they're building. There's literally barely enough space for their rented construction fences, much less an entire extra lane to drive.
Have a look at my picture. That's a wide open, GROSS air duct above a toilet stall. I find it weird that they've put up plexiglass between the hand washing stations and signs everywhere telling people how sanitary they're keeping everything if this is the cleanliness of the air ducts. And I'm also not sure how an air duct cover is just missing. That would definitely be something I'd want in place if I didn't want people to know how dirty the ventilation system is.
But hey, I don't run the mall, I never would run a mall, and I barely use the mall anymore since Sbarro pizza pies are no longer a good deal when you buy 2. For about 5 months, I'd pick up 2 large pizzas a month and it was like $30, (which is worth it for me since there aren't very many places that use San Marzano tomatoes to make their sauce and use the correct dough to sauce to cheese formula to give the pizza an authentic New York-style and taste) and the boxes were small enough to fit in my side-by-side fridge/freezer. When I went back the last time, I'm pretty sure it was $40+, but I could be exaggerating because it was at least a couple...
