Please stay away from this place and DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. I tried to schedule a bachelorette activity here and ultimately ended up wasting 5+ hours hounding them for basic information, calling them 5-10 times a day for weeks (always during business hours), and fighting to get my refundable deposit back. Their website and Instagram says you should call, text, or DM them, but even if you do any/all of that, they never answer. 😆 Their phone line always goes unanswered, but occasionally when I would call 3-4 times in a row, then leave a message, THEN text them to follow up, they would respond - but it was only ever a one-word answer, and always over text. They will literally not speak to you on the phone. So after about 20 initial failed attempts to get in touch with them, they finally got me down on the calendar, only to then announce via their Instagram page that they were actually permanently closing on Rio Grande St and moving to a new location in a completely different part of Austin?!?! This was never mentioned to me once despite making the reservation far in advance of them shutting down the original location.
By that point I had already paid them a refundable $200 deposit (completely managed over text message since they refused to speak with me and the store was never open for me to go pay it in person), but then about 25 of my calls and messages over the span of two weeks went completely unanswered until the reservation was finally cancelled. Not only that, but then of course I had to ask them politely multiple times to repay me my REFUNDABLE deposit. The only reason they finally gave it back is because I left one final message on their answering machine in a vaguely threatening tone. I guess that spooked them enough, but I am 100% convinced they would have just robbed me otherwise lol. Let's just say I don't think they opened this place because of their love of rug tufting. The people running this place are truly pathetic, please don't...
Read moreWe visited Fuzz Labs in Austin, Texas to build a small rug, which cost $73. The experience started with a quick tutorial, but unfortunately, all of the employees left the room afterward and didn’t return to offer any assistance—until one of us accidentally dropped a tufting gun.
One of our group members struggled with the tufting gun early on, and despite clearly needing help, we couldn’t get the attention of any staff members. It wasn’t until much later that one employee finally stepped in and actually helped us—she was the only one who assisted us throughout the session. We had issues with three different tufting guns, and it was frustrating that it took that long for someone to realize the equipment was malfunctioning and not just user error.
Meanwhile, the rest of the staff seemed more focused on making their own rugs than helping customers, which was disappointing considering the price we paid for the experience. It felt like we were mostly left to figure things out on our own, which took away from the fun and value of the activity.
If it hadn’t been for that one helpful employee, I honestly don’t think we would’ve finished our rugs in the three hours we were given. I’m not sure I’d return to Fuzz Labs, but I’d be open to trying tufting again—just somewhere with more attentive staff and...
Read moreSo I did a couples rug session and while it was fun, I feel like the workers could’ve been more attentive to all the guests. It felt like they were overbooked and the staff was stretched thin which made things a bit chaotic when trying to ask questions or seek assistance. To the point that we were basically instructing ourselves and one another during the session. Even having reservations made, they were still accepting walk-ins which made it difficult to grab one of the workers for assistance.
This is such a great concept, I just feel like it can be a bit overwhelming with the amount of people they accept during a session. Maybe it was because it was a Saturday? Or that they’re short staffed? Or both? Nonetheless, it was fun overall. Just not sure if I’d return to that location. It’s a bit small for the amount for people they take on. For the amount of money one pays, they are a bit cheap with their supplies which made it challenging in making our rugs. I had higher expectations of the...
