Stayed one night for a meeting. Renee Henry greeted us with a huge smile and personality to match! We were given a welcome goody bag with snacks and water, and she also helped us later with the computer in the business center. She also always had a moment to share in your day. The lobby and breakfast seating area was big enough for a large crowd and tvs all around. I liked the hanging lights in the lobby. Nice to look at while lounging and resting my neck! The King Suite was very spacious. Although this location is off the freeway, there was no road noise. Carpet and room was clean! The chase lounge, desk chair, and bed were super comfy, clean, and stain/rip free. The pillows were soft and fluffy but go flat by themselves. It's good there were 4 of them, two for each of us. Plenty of super hot water! Had to turn hot down and more cold up. Nice textured tub with a pop out rounded shower curtain and a grab bar that are always appreciated for room and safety. There was also complimentary toiletries for use. All the fixtures in the room and restroom were modern and there are plenty of ports and plugs in the room and lobby/breakfast area to accommodate all your families tech devices. Coffee in the room is always nice for the first eye opening cup. However the creamer pack was hard crumbs. It still mixed ok. They use Green Mountain Breakfast Blend coffee. There was a problem with the clothes iron not working but it was very quickly replaced without a hassle! We thought breakfast was pretty good! Along with eggs, there were bell peppers and onions, sausage, biscuits and gravy, tortillas, cereal, toast, pastries, waffles, fresh fruit, oatmeal, shredded cheese and other condiments. There was a coffee and a juice machine also. The attendant was always standing at the ready very attentive, answering questions and monitoring dishes to be refilled.

Now, some opportunities: 1)They only offer whole milk. Other lactose free options would be nice. I had to barely wet my cereal with the whole milk so I wouldn't have dietary issues on the road. 2) There are two sets of elevators here. Street level is actually the 2nd floor. The elevator that goes to the first floor was out so you had to take the stairs. Also, the only guest laundry and the gym are on the first floor. The first floor is also pet friendly. So just something to keep in mind if you have severe allergies or mobility issues. Call in advance to see if they are fixed if any of this affects you situation. 3) The ATM has been deactivated so don't rely on using it here. 4) When turning on the shower, water still also flowed out of the tub spout. The shower still worked fine and if we were staying more than 1 night we probably would have reported it. 4) The mini fridge made a noise like wind blowing thru the eves of an old haunted house all night. It was kinda funny to us, but to others maybe not. It was low enough to drown out with the TV down low and it did not affect our sleep. Again, short stay so no issue. 5) There was no hair dryer. 6) No Bible, pen, paper, or TV channel guide. These items just make a stay more pleasant and personable, and we're missed. 7) Hallways noises are loud. Doors close very hard and the ice machine is very loud at 6am! Maybe posting a rubber mat under it could help muffle the noise?

All in all we would definitely stay again! The beds were so comfy and breakfast was good! The goodie bag was appreciated as well as the greeting at...

We stayed here based on the Google star-rating, which is generally pretty accurate, so I'll preface my comments by saying maybe we caught them on a bad day. The clerk couldn't handle a walk-up reservation & referred me to a virtual assistant kiosk thingy with a video link in the lobby. Really? I went back outside & made the reservation in my car & then came back in with the confirmation number. Asked for a quiet room. Even said, Please & Thank You. Desk clerk, who knows, or should know, her motel, assigned us a room that shares a wall with the gym, which was in use until after 10:30 p.m. We didn't notice this because we left immediately after dropping our luggage to go to dinner with our son, who lives in Austin. In addition, this room had a sliding glass door that's been bolted shut & a smoking station is now located outside that door, so we were awakened by people smoking and arguing with each other at 4 a.m. I scared the bejeezers out of them when I flung the drapes back to see what in tarnation was going on outside our room. They jumped. I jumped. Everybody's wide awake NOW. There was gray water leaking from the ceiling of the common room downstairs. No blow dryer for my wife. No alarm clock. The hallway carpets need a deep, deep cleaning. We left all kinds of footprints on the tiled surface of our room just from walking to the breakfast area & back - on the INSIDE of the motel - not outside - Because the Elevator was Out Of Service. We climbed the interior stairs and our shoes left tracks in our room when we returned. We could go on, and we could post photos, but you get the idea. As I said, Google reviewers are generally pretty accurate, so I'm going to assume this motel & its staff was just having a bad day when we arrived. Having said that, I would definitely discourage you from accepting the room that borders the gym. Between the smokers outside your door & the fitness fanatics, you can...

My recent stay at Best Western Plus Austin Central was a mixed experience, but overall, it left me with a positive impression. As a member of Best Western, I was excited to try a "Plus" location for the first time. The hotel's central location was a definite highlight, making it incredibly convenient for my activities at UT Austin campus and other nearby attractions, all within a 10-minute drive.

The responsiveness of the staff impressed me. When my restroom had a flushing issue, I called it in early in the morning, and by 8 am, the problem was resolved while I was enjoying breakfast. The quick service was much appreciated, and it reflected the hotel's commitment to guest satisfaction.

However, there were a few aspects that could be improved. The breakfast, though included in the stay, lacked variety. Having the same food options for three consecutive days felt monotonous and limited the overall dining experience.

Additionally, the room amenities were somewhat lacking. For a three-person stay, there were not enough towels provided, and the cleaning crew didn't consistently replace them or attend to the trash. While I was able to get new towels on one occasion, the inconsistency was a minor inconvenience.

On the brighter side, the check-in process was smooth and swift, especially with the pre-check-in I had done online. The front desk staff and cleaning crew were exceptionally friendly, making the stay more enjoyable.

In conclusion, Best Western Plus Austin Central's prime location, quick service, and friendly staff made for a pleasant stay during my time in town. Although there were some minor issues with breakfast variety and room amenities, the overall experience was positive and left me considering returning for...

The room I stayed in was a good sized one with 2 Queen beds. I liked the basic amenities in the room (mini bar fridge, microwave oven & a Keurig coffee machine). The folding mirror door closet looked like an outdated decor, but it was somewhat practical. My room was quiet, but I did find several long strands of hair on the bathroom floor, so the room cleaning service may need to be improved. Speaking of room cleaning, the room cleaning lady knocked on my door for cleaning service at 8:40AM the following day, which I felt was too early 😊 So if you want to sleep in a bit, place the do not disturb sign outside on your door handle. Not sure if it was related to myself staying on their top floor (5th floor), but the water pressure from the shower felt weak & it seemed to struggle to hold a consistent water temperature. The free breakfast was not that great - you can self-serve waffles, bagels & bread, but for all other items (eg scrambled eggs, sausages, even orange juice), you will need to order it from the staff. So the line to get hot food & beverages was longer than what I would have liked. Having just a single waffle maker & a single 2-slot toaster did not help alleviate people waiting in line at the breakfast area. But they did have a decent coffee machine at the breakfast area which served cappuccino, hot chocolate & other specialty coffee, so that was nice.
