We went for a nice little lunch while in the area. Saw the reviews and thought it would be worth a shot... and... WOW!!!! So delicious!!!! Absolutely some of the best TRUE Italian we've ever had. So, so, so glad we went (just in case the pic of the empty plates was not proof enough). Artipasta is now at the top of our list for a delightful Saturday lunch when we are out and about in that part of Austin. And yes, I said "lunch" because we were able to walk right in, be seated and greeted and able to take our time looking at the menu (although we had already pretty much decided before we arrived by checking out the menu on the website... just soooooo many delicious choices - I highly recommend looking beforehand and having two or three options in mind). My only ding (and, obviously, not a large enough ding to come anywhere near enough to knocking this extraordinary dining experience down from five stars) was the bruschetta we ordered as an app came out shortly after our entrees. Again, not too much of an issue, as it was some of (if not THE) best we have ever had and simply added a wonderful highlight to our dishes. So... as I ramble on... back to the lunch time thing... we drove back by later at dinner time and the line was out the door (as, I believe, has been mentioned in other reviews). That's NOT a bad thing- it really tells you a lot about how delicious everything is... but if you don't want to wait outside (and it is absolutely worth the wait) then I recommend lunch. Simple, right? Anyway... go... enjoy... be delighted... spread the word... go back... smile more... repeat.

I'm Italian born, but since living in US for decades the hardest thing for me to find has been a true Italian restaurant. In Phoenix during the 80's, I was fortunate to find one owned and all the food was prepared by a couple from Salerno and it became a popular Italian restaurant by regularly hosting the Tonight Show bands' DOC Severinsen(AKA Severino originally)... Unfortunately in the late 90s it closed due to retirement. In the mid -2000s, I was told of a real Italian restaurant in Houston ... My wife and I made regular weekend trips to Houston's Perbacco Italian Restaurant, the owner and chef from Capri.... Great authentic Italian food. Finally after many years here in Austin, I recently Googled, " Italian restaurant with Italian owner/chefs", and Artipasta popped up on the list. AHH! Finally! someone from Italy opened up a traditional Italian food restaurant in Austin. No Alfredo sauce nor spaghetti with sauce smothered meatballs 😊 here. My wife(from Salerno )and I, totally enjoyed the fresh handmade Casarecce pasta dishes. I had the Casarecce pasta with Sausage and Broccoli and my wife Casarecce with Shrimp, and Pistachios. Sent me back to my childhood in Naples. If you're looking to experience truly traditional Italian pasta dishes, which is Artipastas' specialty, without the Italian- American New York/ Chicago influences then ARTIPASTA IS THE PLACE TO GO...PS I ordered to go at their North Austin restaurant location. ENJOY

EDIT: I'm quite aware of what is or isn't real italian food, and I'm aware of what is or isn't authentic Mexican food. I've eaten that food here. Some good, some bad. I didn't like your food. Plain and simple. There's plenty of other authentic Italian food in this city I have eaten, and others I have yet to eat. Some good, some bad. I've traveled quite a bit, I know what is or isn't authentic. Take the criticism and do better, or you can just cry about it. I don't need to sugarcoat my reviews to make you feel better. Mandola's make better food than you. Food I actually finished. I will definitely be going back there but, not here. Ciao! I ordered from Door Dash and picked the Tagliatelle House meat sauce and spaghetti sausage and tomato pasta. The only word to describe this food is peculiar. Really weird. It seems they only thing they seasoned this food with was rosemary. That is a listed ingredient in description on the menu. But that's all I tasted. It was very overpowering but, underneath it, there wasn't much else. Maybe salt and pepper. The more I ate it, the more uncomfortable I felt consuming it, so I just stopped. They both ended up in my trash can Please chill on the rosemary. This isn't the worst italian food I've eaten, but it's also not the best. I'm not saying don't eat here. I just wouldn't order these dishes, and I personally don't see myself coming back here for a while.

The food is exceptional. The first time I walked into this store to pick up a door dash delivery, it truly smelled like an authentic Italian kitchen. I got the bolognese, and it was wonderful. Pasta was perfect al dente. The sauce was creamy, thick, flavorful, perfectly ratioed ingredients, and there was no need to add cheese. At a cost of $18 for what I got was very fair and likely way underpriced. The quality of the food is on another level and a definite fun first date or date with your cool fun kids who actually like food and not stubborn like the 15 year old that only eats chicken fingers and French fries.

I'm enjoying the cannolis as I'm writing this review, and they can be best described as "get these for you and your lucky partner to share on Valentines Day in bed after your movie/date." Right now, you'll spend less than $100 here on a date. And the 4 cannoli's are only $10, and we're the best I've ever eaten. I love cannoli's, and I've probably eaten them several dozen bakeries in my life. If they were still open, i would get 8 more. I can't wait to try the other pastas and desserts. I would love an never ending pasta option like the olive. I would pay $50+ for all I could eat from this place. I feel like they would pair really well with Brazilian steak, i hope others feel the same way.

There are a couple of areas they could improve, but if i could give the food 10 stars or 11 thumbs up, I would. This is the best Italian takeout in Austin. This may be the best Italian in Austin. If there is someone better at this price point, I truly would like to know so I can eat there too. Artipasta will be my weekly treat until I can't afford them anymore.

The inside feels crowded and rushed. Are you allowed outside tables? Encourage people to wait outside. Utilize your point of sale system to send texts when food is ready. I received a message from the ordering app, Door Dash, telling me the food was ready, but I had to wait several minutes. I don't mind waiting, especially for food this good but I would have stayed in my car or walked to other stores if I knew the real time. How do you interface with the ordering apps? There is likely a parameter you can set or adjust to align times and configuration that can be done to automate direct to customer communication.

The store front feels clunky. It doesn't feel like a sit-down restaurant. I would like to go here someday on an intimate date and get a full experience. That's not this place.

As a delivery driver and consumer, I prefer packaging that is neat, easy to carry, and most importantly, sealed and tamper proof. Plastic Other stores have custom stickers and promotional takeaways they send along in a neat paper bag. Maybe post a copy of the menu outside, add a host table?

This is high-end Italian food at take out speed and prices. Enjoy them now because they could someday become the number 1 restaurant in Austin. Period. That is the potential of the quality of the food. I hope...

My wife and I visited ARTIPASTA for a late Sunday lunch and had a wonderful experience. The location has plenty of free parking which was a nice plus. Mauro greeted us as soon as we walked in, asked if it was our first time, and went over the menu with us. He explained how the pasta is homemade and that the recipes were exclusively traditional and authentic Italian which was exciting.

We ordered the caprese skewers, caserecce broccoli and cherry tomatoes, and tagliatelle ham and peas, followed by a limoncello cake for dessert. Everything was great but my personal favorites were the caserecce and the limoncello cake. My wife had to go back to ask Mauro about the cake because she loved it so much. We ate every bite of food on each plate that we ordered, and we noticed that everyone in the restaurant did the same. Best of all, the food is very reasonably priced and the restaurant is BYOB, so we'll definitely be back for a fun date night to try out other dishes.

The location is small and simply decorated, and the service is fast casual. You order at the counter and tip up front but the staff did a great job of bringing out our dishes and cleaning up. It was great to see the owners also helping to bring food and cleaning up tables while taking time to talk with each of the guests. Everyone in the restaurant was smiling and having a good time. In that sense, the service was better than most full-service restaurants that I've been to in Austin.

ARTIPASTA does a great job of showcasing of what Italian cooking has traditionally been. It doesn't try to elevate the cuisine but rather showcases the cuisine's roots in it's purest, most authentic form. I cannot wait to visit again and would recommend it...
