We came at 6pm and were told it would be 20-30min of a wait however people that came later were sat and had their food before we were text saying our table for 4 was ready. Our server was Nick. We sat at the table for more than 6min before he even came to ourxtable to greet us (he only had one table) and had been to their table twice before coming to ours. He ended up passing us off to another server who had 3/4 tables of her own but she was awesome! He did the change off quickly mumbling her name as I was trying to get his help with our order. When our food didn't come out correctly she was on it quickly having inherited a table she had no idea about. We wished we had her or another server that was nearby our table because they all had better tableside than Nick with another waiter in the section checking on us at one point during our service too. As we had our order sorted out we found out that Nick didn't put in our flavors correctly with us all having ordered a garlic butter cajun mix (confirmed with Nick) but him having only put our order in for garlic butter. After his break Nick was avoidant of our table and seemed to do everything but come to our table until it was time to pay. He was attentive to his other table and was most attentive to the tables sat as we were wrapping up to pay. We told Nick that it was our first time at The Boiling Crab and he indicated that with a star on our table. However he didn't let us know we could've asked for gloves and only provided one cracker when all of us ordered crab. We did use the bathroom and it was dirty. Two waitstaff were in the restroom complaining about the sink but didn't have any problem with the paper all over the floor/smell. I liked the hand sink outside of the bathroom to wash your hands after the meal - no wipes were provided to us until the check was brought after we had already washed our hands.
As for the food most of our food was overcooked (king crab, shrimp, crawfish). The flavor was great though (could've gone a little lighter on the garlic) but we didn't like that the boil is a-la-carte with most of the seafood being listed as market price on the menu. We had to ask our waiter for the prices more than once with the music being loud and him not projecting so everyone at the table could hear him. We had a lot of small crawfish [($15/$16 per lb) purged well] that shouldn't have made weight to be sold for consumption. The establishment did have a few crawfish that were bigger, indicative of it being crawfish season, and those were cooked perfectly. Ultimately the establishment did take off a small portion of the crawfish. The shrimp ($15/$16 per lb) was so over cooked that the head of the shrimp had descinerated. The shrimp was mushy and extremely hard to eat the restaurant ended up taking it off our bill. What I was most upset about was that the king crab ($71-$90 per lb) was sooo over cooked it had to be peeled out of the shell was rubber like. The facility did remake the crab and it was a night and...
Read moreThe worst experience I’ve ever had at any boiling crab. I’ve been to boiling crabs from San Diego to Dallas and everywhere in mid Texas. But this visit was the one and only horrible time I’ve ever had here. I drove over an hour to get here from San Antonio. When I get here they tell me it’ll be about 30-45 mins. Well I waited over an hour and a half to be seated. It gets worse. After being seated I literally sat waiting for someone to get at least my drink order. After another 12 mins they finally come to get my order. The food took a bit to get to me but that was mint as bad as what happened next. When the food was brought to me they didn’t bring my side of rice. So I started setting up my shrimp and corn for consumption. Well after me trying to slowly eat hoping the rice would come, I reminded the waitress and she had totally forgot about the rice. She says it’ll be right out. I tried to eat slower. But finally when she passed by again, I reminded her and she went back a second time for it. She comes back a few mins later to tell me it’s going to be another 15 mins for it to be ready. I told her to cancel it because I didn’t want to eat a bowl of rice by itself after my meal. So here I was eating very cold shrimp and corn and my rice never came. After she took another 21 mins to ask me if I was needing anything. I asked for my bill. Now here I am, waiting for my bill and had enough time to write all this. This is ridiculous. Boiling crab let me down horribly today. Now here I am about to leave p!ssed off and discusted with eating cold food. About to drive over another hour back to San Antonio to just sit there driving in a p!ssed off mood the whole way back. My stomach is hurting. Edit: I waited almost ten mins for her to bring me the bill. I gave her my card and she took another 13 mins to bring it back. This is ridiculous. I literally sat at this property ALL evening. Now I missed my chance to get donuts at mochinuts because I was in here waiting to whole...
Read moreFrom the moment we walked through the doors, it was clear: this wasn’t going to be just another seafood night — this was going to be a royal experience. We came in because my fiancée is absolutely in love with crawfish, and let me tell you — what we got was nothing short of perfection wrapped in a bib and served with a smile. Enter Erin: Our waitress, guide, and low-key superhero of the night. Erin wasn’t just attentive — she was a masterclass in hospitality. She knew the menu inside and out, had flawless timing, and managed to make us feel like we were the only people in the entire place. You know that rare kind of service that feels effortless, warm, and personal all at once? That’s Aaron. She didn’t just take our order — she elevated our entire evening. Then there’s Frank — the man, the myth, the manager. Frank is the kind of leader who sets the tone for excellence. You can feel his presence in every detail, from the perfectly seasoned crawfish to the way the team flows with precision and joy. He stopped by our table just to check in, and it wasn’t a quick “how’s everything?” — it was genuine. You could see he takes pride in the food, the staff, and the customer experience. And it shows. Now let’s talk food: I’ve eaten crawfish in Louisiana, crab on the coast, and seafood across the states — and this spot blows them all away. The flavor, the freshness, the balance of spice — it was simply elite. My fiancée was in heaven. She called it the best crawfish she’s ever had, and I watched her savor every bite like it was a celebration. And honestly? It was. They treated us like royalty — and somehow still made it feel like home. So, would I recommend this place? Absolutely. Without hesitation. With fireworks and a marching band. Five stars? More like a whole constellation. Thank you, Aaron. Thank you, Frank. We’ll be back —...
