One and Only landmark location in Texas is the magnificent structure - State Capitol in the city of Austin. Recommendation for first time visitors *Take the 290 hwy and enter the South Congress Avenue to view the entire gigantic view of Capitol building. You also be crossing through Colorado river, auditorium shores and downtown view before reaching Capitol building. *Parking is the biggest challenge in Austin downtown especially near capitol building. Paid parking slots are available @10th ,11th street close to capitol building. Weekend mornings are the quiet time to visit the building. *Architecture - Inside the Capitol building, you need to spend atleast 2-3 hrs to explore each piece of the architectural design. One should visit the capitol building if you are in Austin . Please check the tour timings. Tours are working after COVID. We visited in Feb 2022. They explain the history of the capitol building . You you happen to visit on a working day , you may get a chance to go inside the senate and house rooms on the 3rd floor .

There is free public parking available at the back of the capitol building . Also plenty of Meter parking on the street.
