There are some things you should see in Austin and Texas The African American History Memorial is one of them. It is a grand memorial that stands mostly alone in front of The State Capital Builiding. It is massive in size and depicts the history of some of our American brothers and sisters.
The memorial is the story of America, through the people who built it. It is not easy to swallow but it is necessary. The statute almost breaths, the two days I visited the wind was blowing and the memorial seem to come alive.
I wish that every person in American could experiece this work, I know that It would change many peoples mind. I lost track of time, because there was so many details to meditate on.
The cost of admission is nothing, it is open to the public, I highly reccomend this place to anyone, specially those who consider themselves American.
What you should know, come with enough time so that you can take in the history. Bring a jacket in the winter and an umbrella in the summer.
Consider walking here as it will make it easier for you to be chill.
