This place definitely deserves 5 stars! I have my own kayak, but since I’m not from town, I sometimes rent and I’ve used a few different kayak rental spots before. This time, my usual place was closed, so I decided to try Lady Bird Lake Rentals & Tours for the first time, and I was really impressed.
The girl who checked me in was super friendly, and the whole process was smooth. When I went to get the kayak, another staff member named Peter was also very nice and helpful. Someone else even helped push our kayak into the water really great service all around.
A week later, I stopped by again, this time with my own inflatable kayak, and one of their team members kindly offered me their air pump to inflate it. That was such a thoughtful gesture, and I really appreciated it.
They’ve definitely earned my trust this will be my go-to place every time I’m in town and need to rent a kayak. Great service, friendly staff, and honestly, the best...
Read moreWhile one of the gentleman was helpful and I appreciated that the paperwork took a few minutes and the rental didn’t start till we actually grabbed paddle boards, it was more a 3 star experience. The paddle boards were all dirty for my friends and I. The lake is dirty and around cars and city noise. You have to walk your own paddle board to and from the lake to where they have paddle boards vs having them right by lake so you have to factor that time for your paddle boards. So we couldn’t go a whole 2 hrs but paid for that amount. Instead we paid for 2 hrs and paddled between 1.5 hr or so because of allotting time the additional 30 minutes to get out the water, off the board, and walk that and paddle to the station. I’m from MD, Black Hill Regional park is way better with less noise, more nature, no trash in lake like Lady Bird. But regardless, apart from that, enjoyed time either way with the...
Read moreThey’re located behind the holiday inn. Parking is available behind hotel near the grass. Street parking along the lake was all taken on Saturday by 1030AM. We’ve been a couple times now. Staff are friendly, especially Will, Brandon, and Joey. All the equipment is inflatable and reasonably priced to rent. They helped carry kayaks to the launch point which was just a short walk away. Recommend water shoes. Life jackets provided. You only need your credit card and a phone to complete the waiver online. They offer a military discount. Single kayaks - $20/hr Tandem kayaks - $25/hr (great value for a double date) Paddle boards - $20/hr Two hours felt like plenty of time to tour the nature side first then the city/skyscrapers after. They said they’d give a 20-30 min grace period for return, but we didn’t test out their generosity. Great to bring guests to escape the Texas heat!...
