I signed up for a city kayak tour with my partner. Our original tour guide got sick on the day of the tour, but Lone Star Kayak Tours did a great job at promptly informing us of the changes and rescheduled our tour at no charges. The whole process was hassle free. Our new tour guide was Connor, and he was phenomenal. He gave the group an insightful point of view of the city, he's a local, so he also shared fun facts about Austin and it's history. Connor also took the time to get to know each member of the group, asking great questions and follow ups. He kayaked next to each group at one point during the tour, offering stories and facts, making the whole experience more personal. Connor is also a great kayaker. He provided hands on training to the groups members who were new to kayaking. All in all, the tour was a great well of Austin knowledge and our tour guide Connor made the whole experience a hundred times better. I definitely recommend this tour, and if you can, try to get Connor...
Read moreThe website shows pictures of dogs on the kayaks! Looks all good, payed $194 for 5 individual kayaks. We showed up, the “owner” immediately pointed out they don’t allow dogs because of an algae. The “owner” said he is trying to protect OUR dog given that he is dog parent....? WHAT?! There was no discussion to be had, no liability release offered, and without asking me, and refunded the money even though we were going to take our dog back home and return. The website displays that it takes 30 business days for refunds to process. When confronted, the “owner” said it takes 3-5 business days. I questioned him about his website, being that it completely misinformed us. He said he tries to update it as often as he can but you would think these issues would seem to be important to update on the website.... The “owner” was extremely unprofessional and nonchalant about the whole ordeal. Very unimpressed and unhappy. Save your money and go elsewhere that is a...
Read moreWhat a unique, fun and informative activity! I highly recommend this "must see" here in Austin, and Lone Star Kayak Tours delivered. Our guide JT was personable and really into bats so it was such a fun experience. His passion for the event itself was contagious! The kayaking up the river is a great way to view the Austin Skyline both before and after dark. The whole experience is totally worth it. You can hear the bats as you get close to the bridge and watching them stream across the skies over your head, indescribable, so cool! JT was the perfect guide, our group of strangers became friends on the water and we all had a really good time. NOTE: it's 2+ hours with no access to a bathroom, be...
