Overall, very poor customer service experience but found a piece that we liked.
TLDR: staff had poor tone and were rude to each other, unapologetic for delays in my time, and did not appear to have a streamlined view of how to check me out as a customer.
Long version: First time going to Mega Furniture and we browsed Ashley Furniture prior to going in. We were looking for a very specific type of piece, which we found at Mega Furniture after looking all over for a year. We were met by Roxy at the door and her customer service was average - seemed rushed, no warm greeting, no smiles - all “sell sell sell”. Told us we needed to buy sooner rather than later because “items move fast” and then later told us she worked on commission. We almost immediately found our item and then chaos ensued. There was no tag on the piece, so Roxy left and came back to tell us the price. We decided to buy it. Went to the counter to check out and the finance staff and Roxy started quibbling about shipping. We were told it would be two weeks and 100$ (Roxy said that was “her price”, but normally is 120$) to get it to our home. Roxy used a hand calculator to do my tax and did not look confident with her math. I asked her why she was taxing the delivery charge as well and said that was standard (not standard at living spaces; maybe that’s how she makes up her $20 off shipping back?). Then they said they could only give us the floor model - which we actually preferred to avoid shipping. I had to fill out a new form, but my other form with my signature was put back into a box where anyone coming up to the counter could grab it. I noticed it and asked the desk staff to shred it. Roxy and a desk staff member (who seemed to be the most knowledgeable about store processes) then got into an argument about putting a tag on an item for which she didn’t know where it went. Snappy conversation between these two in front of a customer - enough said. We had to ask for their lone stock worker (who was the most pleasant employee we interacted with... he earned the second star of the review) to help us load into the car. They didn’t have any shrink wrap, but I just wanted to get out of there at this point. A day after the purchase, I got a text with a link to review my experience... so that’s what I’m doing. I do like the piece we bought, but will NEVER go back to this store. They’ve lost my business due to the above events going forward. Not sure if there were a bunch of new employees here due to COVID closures, but their staff needs some serious training. Hope this helps the next guy. Will post a copy of...
Read moreI think I may have had the best experience of my life at this furniture store. My daughter was in the hospital for 19 days. They released her because her insurance wouldn't pay anymore. She should have gone to a physical therapy rehab center, but again, insurance wouldn't pay for it. She couldn't walk, sit up by herself or anything else. I flew her son in from several states way for the weekend to help me take care of her. He was leaving Tuesday evening June 23. I went to every furniture store in Austin to find a lift chair. Found one in every store. But not one of these stores would sell me one on that day. Rooms to Go, Lazy Boy, Ashley Furniture. Same story Oh, we can't do that it takes two weeks for delivery. I pleaded my story with each one of those stores and not one would help me out. I was sitting in the parking lot on my phone searching for "Furniture stores near me" when I found Mega Furniture. Didn't have a clue where it was and lucky for me I was almost on top of it. Now keep in mind I'm not in a good mood at this point. I've been running back and forth to the hospital for days, my daughter is terribly ill, I've tried four places already. I walk in the door and I'm met by Roxy, the sales girl. I tell her what I need (I'm sure I probably wasn't very nice about it) and I get the same speech from her, can't do it, takes two weeks, I go off in a rant as I'm stomping out of the store. Roxy, literally chases me out the door, wait, wait.I said no need to wait if you aren't going to sell me a chair TODAY. She says let's go talk to my manager. I go with her to meet Julia, the manager. I LOVE Julia. Not only did Julia sell me a lift chair, but she made a few calls and found someone to deliver it for me. I had to stop at the pharmacy before I went home and they delivered the chair before I even got home. The chair is awesome, Roxy is awesome, Julia is awesome and Victor the delivery driver was Austin. I'm telling you they have my business and loyalty for a long time. They went above and...

Sales experience was fantastic. A little unorganized but I did come in with very high expectations and close to closing. If I was rating this based on sales alone, 4 stars.
For the overall experience, I would give negative stars. I purchased my sectional on 9/17/2020. I was told since it is a custom order, it would take a few weeks to be made and to expect it in November. Aight cool. Patiently waiting and already making payments. Fast forward to 10/29/2020. I text my sales guy, he isn't working but says he will let me know the status of my order the next day. Never heard back. I texted again 11/3/2020 and several hours later he tells me "it not ready". That same day before I heard back from my sales guy I called the SPM location, and their phones don't even work!!!! So I go on the website and reach out to their live chat. Spoke to a nice lady and she checked on my order and told me it should be ready in a couple more weeks and delivery usually takes a week. So I'm excited cuz my couches should be in before Thanksgiving. NOPE!!! It has been 11 weeks and they still can't even tell me when my couch will be made... let alone delivered.
Yesterday, I reached out through the online system, never got a response. Store I purchased from still doesn't have a working phone. The customer service number on the website doesn't work. I feel like this company is a total sham! At this point it seems like the only way I can get any information is to text my sales guy and he is busy doing his job, selling. He said the manager would check in on it and I never heard back. Reached out again today and apparently the manager is off. There needs to be someone actually tracking orders and holding manufacturers responsible to ensure quality business.
I will update this post once I actually get my product...
