I usually don’t write reviews for retail stores and I usually don’t write negative reviews either. But my experience here was just weird. Things started out normal, I walked in and was greeted and asked if I needed to find anything. And as someone who’s worked in retail before, I know all of the protocols for Christmas crowds. At this time of year I get that there are higher suspicions but this store really needs to tone it down because you’re going to creep out honest people. As I’m shopping for multiple people I looked around for a while before picking something up. But for some reason everywhere I turned there was an employee. I go to the other side of the store and it’s either the same employee or a different one. Fixing some minor things, trying to look busy. Asking me if I want whatever I picked up to be kept at the register. I was trained in all of these tactics when I worked in retail. As of today I work in a high paying tech job…I’m not going to steal a nutcracker. The fact that I even have to explain that is hilarious and annoying at the same time.
Also when I got to the register, the cashier was nearby talking to a coworker, I wasn’t in a hurry so I was fine waiting until she was done. But when she was told that she had someone waiting, she said “well she didn’t say anything” which irritated me because I feel like if someone is waiting by the register, you should be able to put two and two together. It’s not rocket science. She saw that I was there, and I didn’t want to be a bother and call her over but I was for some reason still blamed for her own doing. Love that lol.
I love this store and this company but I think I’ll be going to other locations for a while because my whole experience at this location was...
Read moreI’m a big fan of Hallmark and this location is one of the bests that I’ve ever been. Its located on the Lakeline Plaza and the store is huge! There’s also a huge parking lot right in front of the store so no need to worry about parking.
The interior looks fairly new and the shopping areas are well organized and arranged. They have a lot of stuffs but you don’t feel crowded shopping in the store. I love their gift selections. From home decors, art crafts, homeware to cute plush toys, they have literally everything you can think of!! Additionally they also have a special section dedicated to Texas local/style gifts.
As you walk towards the back of the store, you’ll find rows of beautiful cards for various occasions. Their card collection is the most diverse and unique one I’ve seen among all the Austin stationery stores.
Lastly, the staffs are great. They are all very friendly and helpful. Will keep coming back for gifts and cards...
Read moreAmazing staff and exceptional service! I stopped in today hoping to find a card to wish my California family a “Happy Pride Month.” While Trudy’s didn’t have cards specifically for the occasion, the staff went out of their way to gather several beautiful, rainbow-themed options for me. Their kindness and attentiveness was greatly appreciated. I couldn’t have asked for a more thoughtful customer service experience (which included directions to the post office)! Thank...
