Worst service and experience I’ve ever had at a shop. I have zero trust in this company or their employees. I sent my mother a senior citizen to get her tires replaced at Baker City Schwab. After paying close to 1000.00 for a new set of tires, they have been nothing but awful to her and me. They told her she needed her hubs replaced after putting the tires on. So 600.00 later and new hubs, we are back at the shop because her brand new tires are worn to shreds because they never did an alignment. They did not suggest she needed one and both front tires were ruined after 6000 miles. She would have gladly paid for alignment to secure the life of her new investment had she been told she needed one. They are the professional right ? They are supposed to take care of your wheels and tires? So, while back replacing the two bald front tires less than 6 months later now they damaged her muffler and drive shaft while in their care. When we picked up the vehicle that was only there to get the two new tires put on, they told her she better take it straight to the shop because a baring was bad and she drives away with an awful sound coming from underneath her car. Bad barring ? No, absolutely not the case. They had caused this damage to her car and proceeded to tell us it sounded like that when we brought it in. Nope ! They told me when I called minutes later listening to the sound that her car was old and things like this just happen. It was nothing they did. The lying was enough to bring my mom to tears at the other repair shop. The mechanic put the car up on the lift in his shop, took a video and showed us the damage, confirmed it was just recently done as you could tell by the fresh scratches in the metal. He explained how something and/or someone caused the muffler to get shoved into the case around the driveline and that’s what’s causing the awful grinding sound. He was able to fix the issue and in good conscience send my mom back on the road safely which is more than I can say for Phil and Jake at Schwab. They sent my mom away telling her lies and forcing her to drive a car THEY damaged and placed the blame on my mom and her “old” car. NEVER LET THIS PLACE TOUCH YOUR CAR. Never give them your money or your trust. I wonder if they treat their mothers this badly. Shame...
Read moreThe universe has a funny was of showing us that it's listening. The day before "the incident" I was talking to my friend about some work he had done his vehicle at a Les Schwab tire center in Boise, and I had made the comment that "Les Schwab is proud of their s#!+." Meaning that they are often the most expensive shop. Well, on my drive home from Boise to Seattle I had a wheel bearing grenade on me while exiting the freeway for a gas stop. While on the of ramp I noticed that my truck was pulling hard to the right. I pulled over expecting a flat tire however, upon inspection it was very obvious that this was not the case. I didn't know exactly what was wrong, all I could see was the cv boot was pulled back, and there was a lot of grease everywhere. My phone was telling me that there is a Chevron a few miles from where I was, so I preceded to limp my truck to that gas station. I was in Baker City OR and I had never been there before and quite frankly it seemed like I was out in the middle of nowhere. As I approached the gas station I was absolutely floored to see that there is a Les Schwab across the street from the Chevron. It was a Saturday morning just past 9 am, so there was nobody waiting for service at that time. After a brief inspection it was determined that it was a wheel bearing and most likely would have to wait until Monday. Now, given the location of the store I had fully expected to be there until Monday. As the technician, Kody, was checking the availability of the parts it was found that they actually had all the parts needed for the repairs. After a few minutes he had an estimated cost for the repairs and I agreed to go ahead with it. Kody told me that he would probably have me back on the road by noon however, I was fully prepared to have to stay the weekend in Baker City. I not kidding when I tell you that at 11:59 here comes my truck pulling up the front curb of the shop. Now, was it the cheapest? Doubtful. Under the same circumstances do I think another shop could have pulled it off in the same time frame? Highly doubtful. I'm very much a brand loyalist so Going forward, Les Schwab is my go-to for all things tire and...
Read moreI had a flat tire on my way to Jordan Valley Crater, 21 miles in towards the wilderness. Was lucky enough to be able to get the spare tire put on, the bottle jack that comes with the truck tipped over and good thing I shoved the wheel with the flat tire underneath, otherwise I would have had a bigger issue. I am now planning on bringing a stand next time I go out in the wild. After getting the spare tire on in the middle of the day on a gravel road, I started heading back home towards Seattle. It was a long drive for me and my little dog. I looked up Les Schwab on Google map along the way and found Les Schwab 210 Bridge Street Lew Bros in Baker City. I stopped by 1st thing after leaving the campground, they we're able to get me in while I had breakfast at Oregon Trail Restaurant right across the street. Within 30 minutes after I walked in the shop, they gave me a call and told me my truck was ready. I was expecting a long wait but they got me in and out fast. This was great cause I had a long drive still to go. I thought I bent the rim, but everything was good to go. They fixed the flat and replaced the spare back under the truck and they didn't charge me for the fix. Thank YOU to the crew at Lew Bros for taking care of your customers. I hope I don't see you guys again for a fix, but if I pass by Baker City, I'll pass by to drop off a box of donuts. Looking at the Open Country AT 3 for my future tires, Thank YOU for what you do. The front rep...
