So Daniel wouldnt confirm megs name at first and also hung up on me and also said he couldnt disclose when managers were around which i knew was a lie and called another location where the guy was great and told me that wasnt true i can definitely know when managers work. Alexis, Daniel and Meg all worked 11am shift Nov. 12 @ Bakersfield, California on California Ave. location when this incodent happened. **If someone has a $10 membership at 1 location and they go to another they're allowed to pay $5 for the day to not be at their home location. I came to the California location and I told Meg I travel and nobody cares ever if I just needed a shower. Not fresno, not Palmdale not Lancaster not any part of LA and around it that I've stopped into. Her and Alexis gained up on me when I tried to explain hey what if i was homeless like, for the next person you shouldn't care if they want to come take a (lukewarm/cold) shower here and she did not here me at all and told me she wrote a note not to let me in here (At one point she said "so do you travel or are you homeless.." girl excuse you?). This all is beyond me. I'm older and these lil girls are so disrespectful. Read moreJeremy (Manager California) handled a situation that for the most part left me feeling less than human. I have been a member of PF for over 3 years and have lost over 150lbs. Panama lane machines for handicapped have been broken for over a year and I was told they are not under a warranty so likelihood of repair is nonexistant. The main issue was having to use an aluminum chair and a yoga mat to exercise on the equipment, after which when I asked the employee if I could leave the mat at the counter because my back and foot I was hurtine i was told, "That's not in my job description". I guess customer service isnt this employee's Priority. Furthermore the employee went back to checking his phone after, and I walked away feeling defeated. To think I actually wanted to work for this location because Ayla is a great manager and her staff talk highly about her. I already struggle to get in a work out, stay pain free, and consistent and this employeess judgement left me wanting to cancel my membership. If It was not for Jeremy here at California I would be an inshape member today. He expressed empathy and let me work out on their equipment even though I was not a home member here. Read moreI first want to start out by saying this facility is one of the best Planet Fitness locations I have ever been to. It is clean, I feel comfortable working out in the 30 min work out section and I enjoy the water massage beds. What I greatly disliked was the unprofessionalism of some of the staff. I went to work out with my brother who is 13 years. We followed the standard procedure of providing his birthday and his school ID to verify that it was him. I was told that it was a one and done registration. We returned again, the following week a second time, and the young lady that assisted us told me I had to do the entire process again. I cancelled my membership ASAP. I understand if I had to do it a second time, I would have been ok with it if I was given the correct information initially. What is frustrating is she was not helpful and had poor customer services skills. She was indifferent of the frustration I had. She did not care. I think employees need to keep in mind that customers use the gym to help their mental health, and having to deal with poor staff only adds more stress. I would suggest planet fitness provide training or incentives to assist in helping employees give the best quality customer service. One less black card on my end.
