Food was great would go back had the owner not acted childish after being called out for HIS mistake. My bf, his brother and myself stopped in earlier this morning. We ordered $45 worth of food, my bf ordered a LARGE meatball sub and repeated it twice to the owner who took our order. Rang him up, paid and waited for our order. Once our order was ready he proceeded to tell my bf that he didn't charge him for the large meatball sandwich but instead charged him for the medium so my bf still needed to pay $3 something more, to which my bf asked why? If it had been his mistake, my bf then asked him to keep the sandwich he didn't charge him for and the owner said "no that's fine, it was my mistake right?" Using a sarcastic tone. We got our order thought everything was over with, then after he had given another customer too much change back and the customer was honest and returned his money he walked over to my bf and says "you know I didn't charge you because of your smart mouth , it was because of customer service." No, sir! You got mad because you were called out on your mistake and not being contend you still escalated the issue even further by saying it was because of customer service? Customer service would have been "oh shoot, I messed up, it was my fault but here you guys go." We had the money to pay it but it was the principle behind it. You were crying because YOU forgot to charge $3 more even when you were told twice but you were also giving away extra change to the next customer. PAY ATTENTION to what you're doing. Customer service does NOT involved picking fights with possible returning customers because you messed up. Next time, I rather go the extra mile and take my momey to Ike's sandwiches. Thank you but no thank you. Also the sandwich he didn't charge for, was left behind, so nobody...
Read moreThis place is always very good like I said no one deserves five stars because there’s always something that they can improve on but if I could get 4 1/2 stars I would do so right now. All of the sandwiches they offer are really good I’ve tried most of them Are some of the best sandwiches I’ve gotten while here in Bakersfield. Pepperoni pizza sub it was made by request from the menu item they had earlier in the summer is probably one of the better subs that you can get.The bread is salt the meatballs are firm the amount of sauce and cheese on the sub is just right nothing overpowers anything you’re able to taste every weight of pepperoni cheese meatball sauce and bread with every single bite. The Chicken Gyro sub It’s very tasty was almost like a Greek salad on a soft French roll the flavors all complemented each other the way the chicken is made Is a great combination of the added feta cheese and vegetables. So not a personal fan of chicken in a sub this was a good combination of flavors. The Tuna sub Is a long time favorite always with provolone cheese lettuce tomatoes and onion Seems to be always fresh never fishy tasting it downright to go to sandwich if you’re looking for a cold sandwich at the Firehouse subs. I can’t say enough about the way this place let’s train your staff to give you the best experience even when they are Busy beyond belief, after the sandwiches were made the staff completely apologized over and over again about the time it took to get the sandwiches out. I assured them it was not a big deal and we moved on it when I love I think them for taking their time and getting everything on the order right. The crew that was working the afternoon of Friday July 15 is a great combination of staff working together to give their customers good quality product with the...
Read moreDisappointing. Soggy sub with not much flavor. 1st time there and had the Italian. I asked for toasted and it wasn't, asked for olives didn't get them, asked for bell peppers and couldn't find them cuz they were chopped finely and only a tiny amount of there If that is what it was, not sure. The bread was dense and sweet, not the kind I would want on a sub. I won't be going back. It was pretty sad. Not only mine my son's also. They need to try to do better bread, like italian, not just White, at firehouse and listen to the customers order and not put VERY WET chopped finely lettuce and veggies. No dill pickles on my sandwich, only a spear on the side, no pepperoncini slices on my sandwich, no bell pepper slices, and the soggy finely chopped lettuce made it a very soggy sandwich, but also need to add more choices of sauces and flavors to add to the sandwich like Subway has. Til then I'll stick with Subway. Great everytime. Sorry firehouse, I know u can do better!...
