El Puesto Cocina y Cantina — Restaurant in Bakersfield

The problem #1… I gave the bartender 2 $5 bills to pay for my Corona. Bartender said thanks babe and went on making drinks for someone else. I had to asking for my change. He still shorted me .59 cents. Im a Bartender and never keep anyones $$! No matter how little the change is. Problem #2 … I had my finger on the item I wanted to the server. What I wanted costed $12. He responded to me really fast in spanish. I didn't really understand, because I speak only English. I just said yes this one with my finger on it and he still brought me the one that was $29. The $29 on was 2 items below the one I wanted. I wonder why it was so big when he brought it to me, but not with more shrimp. Its was filled with cheap potato tacos and a couple of shrimps over it. Dry! When the server brought me the bill, I questioned the amount. His response was… I asked you and you said yes. I said… I dont know what you said, but I did have my finger on the item I wanted. My friends agreed with we. From that point on they only refunded $10. I have a filling El Puesto employees have a reputation of doing this. We had a party of 8 and we all agreed not to go back. Over priced food and they like to take advantage of people. Shame on El...

They created a beautiful restaurant with the worst service and food imaginable! Waited 10minutes to be seated, there were only 3 other tables eating. Another 10 minutes to be offered water or anything to drink. When the food finally came, cold, tasteless and not as ordered. Dry dark meat chicken instead of breast, cold - thin dry carne asada instead of juicy flank steak and the beans were like chocolate milk. A Molcajetè that had little flavor, literally no sizzle or heat coming out of the kitchen, No flour tortillas available or made, although offered by waitress, if she was one. But then just tossed corn and told after repeatedly asking they didn’t have any. And don’t get me started with their cheap ass pinwheel with chili offering form the dollar store. Offer some real home made chicharrones or chips and salsa, but like I wrote, everything but the decor was cheap and underwhelming… First and last time here, what a wasted experience and a good amount of money, they charge a lot for their lackluster service and poor food quality. Such a let down, but not to worry,...

First of all we didn't know we had to wait to be seated. There's no sign in front saying that and no one was at the door. We looked around and saw a booth since no one was there and sat down. Since we sat down hardly anyone was helping us. We were the ones telling the waitress what to bring out. Because she was bringing things out one by one like they don't believe in trays. Then we had to wait for a while to she came to our table to bring utensils there she proceeded to explain the reason why we don't have utensils because we were supposed to wait to be seated, well if someone would of been at the door to sit us we would of waited. They were all walking around without acknowledging us instead of letting us know. Now, we wait to order and we told the waitress to give us a bit we have been sitting here for an hour and still we don't get no service. Did she expect us to go get her from the kitchen and tell her we are ready to order too just like everything else. Ridiculous!! I will not come back...
