My first visit was as a party of three. We were seated right way as we had reservations. The wait staff was attentive and came over quite often to check on us in the beginning and then toward the end of our time there we noticed that we didn't see much of him, not sure what that was. As for our food, I had a breakfast platter and I was disappointed. I had two scrambled eggs, beef sausage, brioche bread toast and potatoes. With my toast I asked for butter and strawberry jam and when it arrived it didn't have strawberry jam or butter on the side so I asked for that again it took a little too long and I was hungry so I said OK I'll just go ahead and use this grape jelly. My bread was stuck together so when I pulled the bread apart I was surprised to see it had already been buttered and the jelly had already been applied. Unfortunately, because of that- my toast arrived soggy. I've never been to a restaurant where they butter it for you and put the jam on for you. I found that very strange. Also, my sausage was cold. One person in my party had the creamy pesto with shrimp they liked it the other person had some chicken wings and they had the crab dip. The entire time the two people in my party were complaining about their eyes burning/stinging. I didn't have that problem until about 15 minutes before we were about to leave I started to experience it too. One member of my party had to get up and actually walk outside because the stinging and burning was too much. The two people in my party ordered peach Bellini's and they liked them. I ordered the better than OJ and didn't care for it at all. I did enjoy the drip coffee, I had 2 cups with oat milk creamer-very, very, very good; it definitely did not disappoint. As for the ambience I thought it was cute. Both of the walls along the sides of the restaurant lined with original artwork from different artists and each one has the name of the piece and the sales price. The entire time we were there we had to swat away flies and we mentioned it to the staff they didn't seem to really care but the flies were definitely...

I'm writing to share feedback about a frustrating experience my party had on Friday, May 16th. We had planned to dine at your restaurant and arrived around 7:30-8:00 PM for what should have been prime dinner service, only to find the establishment completely closed with no explanation. The doors were locked, lights were off, and there was a closed sign displayed, but no indication of why you were closed or whether this was temporary. Most concerning was the complete lack of communication - no signage explaining the closure and no way for us to understand the situation. This unexpected closure significantly disrupted our evening plans, as we had specifically chosen your restaurant before attending an event at Inner Harbor. We were forced to scramble for last-minute alternatives, which delayed our entire evening and caused considerable stress and frustration. While I understand that unexpected closures can happen due to emergencies or unforeseen circumstances, the lack of any communication was particularly disappointing. A simple detailed sign explaining the situation would have gone a long way toward managing customer expectations and preventing wasted trips. I hope you'll consider implementing better communication protocols for future closures to prevent other customers from experiencing this same...

Today, I was excited to finally attend this black owned restaurant that I’ve been planning to conclude the end of my friend’s birthday celebration. To my disappointment the service and food was not a taste to wait for. Every process took an overdue amount of time- ordering, drinks, food and even the bill. The food was by far one of the most distasteful things I’ve had this year. I had fish and grits and it was subpar, if that. My friend ordered chicken and waffles and stopped eating it after the first bite due to the horrid flavors. When he asked this to be taken off our bill due to its distastefulness, things took even longer; that should’ve only taken half of the time. This was completely unacceptable and unprofessional in every aspect of business and professionalism. Not to mention the owner was actively present, and participating in the uncynical nonsense. If one can’t take constructive criticism they will fail. If it depends on my dollar they would have failed today. Therefore, this experience on a day to be remembered, will be recalled for the wrong reasons in result of this restaurants distasteful hospitality. I will never return, and I urge anyone to never waste TIME AND MONEY on this unproductive and unprofessional...

Outstanding food but experience completely ruined by undisclosed automatic gratuity. Get that they maybe have an issue with their upscale menu pricing, especially dinnertime, but any business that does that without active voiced disclosure when that check arrives is acting in bad faith. Not going to be in business long pulling that stunt. Auto-added 18% gratuity to a party of **two** at **brunchtime** time on a Saturday morning. Waitress didn’t say a word. Not cool. We didn’t notice until after we left, saw the digital receipt, and saw we’d given another 20% on top (ultimately resulting in a 45%tip on the original bill). Shouldn’t have to study my receipt at a Saturday brunch date. I’d rather review the food and drinks which were both on point, but hopefully the owners make some policy adjustments with their staff.

The food was presented well. However, it took nearly 1 hour, yes, ONE HOUR, to receive chicken, waffles, salmon, and fried grits. Was the food good, yes, but I will not wait 30 minutes for OJ and another 25 minutes for waffles. I left thirty as the food was delivered and my drink was empty. The waitress/owner never came back to the table. The music was so loud I couldn't hear my own thoughts. The owner needs to quickly staff this restaurant, or we'll see yet another blackowned business close its doors. In our 2-hour visit, we watched 4 parties leave.
