Punjab Groceries & Halal Meat — Attraction in Baltimore

Punjab (Halal) is a fine, convenient, small, well-stocked, Indian/Pakistani store only steps from my home. I rely on them for the British PG TIPS tea bags. Sweetened with honey, this tea is truly a hearty, flavorful tea to enjoy! Punjab stocks many brands of tea (in tea bag and loose forms) from fine tea companies around the world at reasonable prices!

Punjab also has many other fragrant Indian and Euro soaps, including henna and a choice of incense. Punjab has Basmati rice and oil in medium to large sizes at very reasonable prices.

By request, chicken, lamb, & goat are custom-cut while you wait your order and are available for purchase. Indian spices are packaged in usable, sealed packages

Many days, homemade samosas are for sale which often freshly prepared and warm near the cashier's counter. Pita & naan are fresh and reasonably priced

Some fresh vegetables, fruits, nuts, spices, jarred Indian/Pakistani sauces and frozen entries are available. Preserves and jellies as well as packaged cakes, sweets, and unique treats are available.

In all, Punjab is a treasure to the Charles Village...

Let me tell you something great about this store.

You know that puny little bottle of cumin you bought the other day at Whole Foods for eight bucks? Well, if you had gotten your cumin here, you could have gotten a BAG with at least three times as much cumin, for only THREE dollars. And it's not just cumin, it's just about every spice you can think of.

They have a small selection of produce, and mostly stuff you would use in Indian dishes, like onions, ginger, cauliflower, okra, etc. But it is good and cheap. They also have a lot of imported Indian frozen foods that you probably wouldn't be able to find anywhere else in Baltimore.

But the real reason to come here is the crazy cheap...

After a bad experience with another racist Halal store in Baltimore, this place was a joy and filled my heart with happiness. You walk in and the employees and owners are extremely kind and accommodating. Mashallah. The meat is excellent and the store is very organized and clean. The prices are great also. I was able to find everything I needed and was happy to find Grape seed oil! The brother cutting the meat was awesome and very kind. He immediately acknowledged me when he turned around and I was able to get the meat cuts I enjoy and since I have been into Chef Ramsey, Tasty and really cooking fresh meals inshallah to help the wife, this is a key go-to place now. Great...
