From start to finish, this company was amazing. I originally booked a lobster tour with another company but that company cancelled on me a week before the tour was scheduled. So I was left scrambling for a replacement tour one week before our trip that also fit into our schedule. I found one of Lulu’s lobster tours but I needed one more spot for our group than was showing available on their website. I called Lulu, explained my situation, and asked them if they would add one more spot for me. They immediately told me they’d be happy to accommodate us and added the spot while I was on the phone with them. I was able to sign up online right then with their help. This literally saved us from missing the lobster tour experience altogether when we were at Bar Harbor. Tours fill up weeks in advance at all the companies so I was very grateful to Lulu.
The tour itself was amazing. The boat was comfortable with plenty of room for guests. The tour guide was also outstanding. She was knowledgeable, personable, and kept us entertained the entire ride. It was very misty the day we went out but we still managed to see tons of wildlife and got up close and personal with a lobster. Overall just a great experience. I highly recommend this company and 100% would go to them first to schedule tours if we ever go back...
Read moreWhat a great way to spend an afternoon in Bar Harbor. The 2 person crew was friendly, polite and super informative. The boat was pretty full but it felt roomy enough. The guide, Gaelyn, narrated throughout the excursion with unmatched enthusiasm. He is a retired teacher and it was obvious that he loves to teach and entertain. We learned in an interactive way about lobsters and the harbor. After the lobster hunting we road out to a lighthouse where we circumnavigated the little island it's on. There were two types of seals swimming and sunning. Tons of birds enjoyed the island and it's skies including two amazing bald eagles. Only SLIGHT possible negative .... Gaelyn really likes hamming it up with the kids. There were 5 kids on board and there was a LOT of time spent being silly with them. Seriously, how many ways can you put a lobster on a kid's head? If you're annoyed by weird kid stuff, this could be uncool for you. Haha! If you have...
Read moreFound on Google and am glad we had the experience! Had a 2:30pm tour (arrived at 2 to check in). The fog had lifted by that time so it was clear and everything was visible.
Tour guide was great - she shared lots of history and interesting facts about the lobster industry to keep things fun and educational. Saw Egg Rock Lighthouse (seals and bald eagles). At the end of the ride, we stopped at Lulu’s buoys to pull some lobsters in their trap. Got a few crabs initially but then got lucky pretty quickly with a few lobsters. They banded their claws and passed the lobsters around for pictures.
Only suggestion for the company would be to make sure both sides of the boat get to see the lighthouse and seals - driver tended to stay just on one side.
Worth the money but we always love a good boat ride that’s interactive and educational. Takes 2 hours for the tour we took.
Be sure to take a jacket or sweatshirt as it gets quite cool on the water,...
