Sand Bar Cottage — Hotel in Bar Harbor

I am writing this under my husbands account, but these words come from us both.

This place… oh this special place. Every single detail was perfect. The house is exquisite. It almost feels magical. The location is perfect, you are close to everything. That is if you ever wanna leave the house. You fall so in love with the staff, it’s hard to leave the beautiful front porch. Let’s start with Josh… he greeted us when we checked in. So friendly and we just loved his genuineness from the start. He was so kind in helping us figure out what to do. We loved him.

Next is sweet Mariah! She is precious! Absolutely precious. She is so attentive to making sure you are satisfied and is full of Maine knowledge from growing up there. She is such a worker and is always busy taking care of somebody.

Lastly…. CHRIS! We love CHRIS!!! He is the icing on the cake. His kindness, his warmth, his eagerness to make sure you are relaxing is so important to him. He is so humble and does his job with so much pride. He makes you feel like you are truly a guest in his home. He makes the best low tide ever! Even if you don’t like bourbon…. Trust him!!!! I promise you will thank me! Nights around the fireplace sipping those, while chatting will him will forever be a great memory. We truly felt like family.

Without a DOUBT we will return to stay in this perfect place. We love this staff and already miss you all!!!!! Thank you for making my 50th bday week so unforgettable!!!!!

Almost forgot…. Breakfast is delish, afternoon goodies and tea…...

We had a fabulous stay at Sand Bar Cottage. The location is most ideal. It is right in the middle of town within walking distance to many restaurants, and a nearby grocery store. Every morning, we're offered a delicious gourmet breakfast (thank you, Jayson) and are treated to yummy baked goods int the afternoon. It's just nice to come back to some delicious sweets and around the clock coffee. The innkeeper, Brandon and David were very helpful and accommodating to us. They're so personable, making our stay feel homey and welcoming. Our party of 4 all agreed that the hospitality extended to us at the inn was commendable and we would definitely stay there again. We stayed in the first week in September. Short walk to the center of Bar Harbor. Short drive to Acadia Park entrance. Charming public area and porch. Easy check in. Excellent customer service. Comfortable bed, modern bathroom fixtures, very nice breakfast. Tiny quibble, our room did not have a closet but all the other positives way more than made up for it. And since finding parking in the park is challenging, and there is parking at Sand Bar, the walk to the Village Green Island Explorer Acadia Shuttle stop is less...
