Absolutely Incredible Sitka Experience!! This film is absolutely incredible! I own a wildlife boat tour business in Sitka and went to see this film today. WOW! What an experience!! I’ve had the pleasure of having the film maker on my boat quite a few times and he’s the most talented guy behind the lens that I’ve ever taken out. Ben has already won an Emmy for his past work and this film blows his awards winning films out of the water! The Sitka movie theatre doesn’t look super nice on the outside but it actually has top of the line sound and visuals inside and watching this film with the killer surround sound is just amazing. If you want a good understanding about Sitka and its world class wildlife & scenery, you HAVE to see this movie! It’s only 40min long so it doesn’t take up too much time, is located in the heart of downtown and Ben (the film maker) comes out and does a little intro to this experience beforehand. I cannot recommend this movie...
Read moreWe had the chance to meet and chat with Ben before and after seeing Sitka Wonders, and I can honestly say it was one of the most moving and beautifully crafted films I’ve ever experienced. His passion for Sitka and its wildlife radiates through every single frame.
The film is more than just a documentary—it’s a breathtaking tribute to the natural world. From sweeping aerial shots to intimate moments with wildlife, Ben tells the story of Sitka in a way that’s both awe-inspiring and deeply personal. You can feel the hours, effort, and heart he poured into this project. It’s not just what you see on screen—it’s the emotion behind it.
Ben has a rare ability to capture the spirit of a place, and Sitka Wonders left all of us stunned. I’ve never seen nature filmed with such care, reverence, and artistry. I would recommend this film to absolutely everyone …it’s unforgettable and a must...
Read more5/5. My wife and I were visiting Sitka on a cruise and only had a few hours to spend in town. And I am so happy that we spent the time to watch this short film while we were there.
The filmmaker, Ben, was present before the showing, and answered a ton of questions from all of us there. A lot of love went into this project and it is very apparent when you watch it.
As for the content itself, the footage is extraordinary, and well worth your time if you were visiting Sitka for any length. I recommend exploring all the townhouse to offer, but setting aside about an hour to watch the movie and ask questions. For me personally, this documentary was a transformative experience.
I only have one question—Ben, when can I...
