Sitka Totem Square is an absolute gem and a must-see when visiting Sitka. This historic spot offers a beautiful glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of the area. The totems themselves are intricately carved and tell stories that reflect the deep history of the Tlingit people. It's a fascinating experience to see these totems up close and learn about their significance. The square is conveniently located near the waterfront, providing stunning views of the surrounding landscape. It's a perfect place to take a leisurely stroll, enjoy the fresh Alaskan air, and take in the natural beauty. I found it a great spot for photography, with plenty of opportunities to capture both the totems and the scenic backdrop. In addition to the cultural experience, the area is peaceful and serene, making it a perfect place to relax and reflect. Whether you're a history buff or just looking to enjoy some time outdoors, Sitka Totem Square is a must-visit location that offers something for everyone. Don't miss out on this unique and enriching experience when you're in Sitka!

The totem pole in the downtown of Sitka is the sign of Russian heritage. This has Russian cannon and three anchors recovered. The totem pole displays the double headed eagle. All the tourists of Alaska cruise stopping at Sitka visit here while walking down the historical downtown of Sitka. This is nice little place to sit down, relax, take pictures and watch people. This is more like a park with nicely mowed lawn, benches, pathways, sea walls and ocean in the background. It is easy to get around by foot in downtown Sitka. This area has an array of sights from totem poles to a prominent harbor as well as the Russian Bishop’s house, St. Michael’s Orthodox Cathedral and many more sights. You can get unique local perspective of the city while walking down the paved streets and sidewalks.

Totem Square Park in Sitka is another charming and historically rich destination that offers visitors a chance to experience the unique cultural heritage of Alaska. The totem poles are primary attractions and each represent different clans and stories from Tlingit culture. These beautifully carved works of art offer insight into the traditions and beliefs of the local Native Alaskan people. In addition to its historical significance, Totem Square Park is a great place to unwind from bustling downtown - there are some benches and green spaces perfect for a leisurely stroll or quiet reflection. The park is also close to other attractions in Sitka, making it an ideal stop for tourists exploring the area..
