Sitka’s Burger & Crab Shack — Restaurant in Alaska

Sitka Alaska is such a magical little town. I had the opportunity to go on a wonderful boating adventure this morning & after all that excitement. We worked up quite an appetite. However we quickly discovered how hard it was going to be to find a spot for lunch being that it’s also Sunday. All the places we checked next to the harbor was closed. Either opening later for dinner or under construction. Luckily one of the places we called referred us to Sitka’s Burger & Crab Shack.

When we pulled up, we were just so happy to see the open sign with lights on inside. Plus there was already a few diners with their food. The lady behind the counter was super nice, patient with all our requests & accommodating.

Our order was started the moment we placed it. So the wait wasn’t long at all. It only felt like a few minutes before our food was dropped off at our table. Not only did it look delicious but everything was piping hot straight from the kitchen. Which I absolutely love because I personally can’t eat cold fries. Even after biting into my fish sandwich I could see the steam from the heat being released. Giving that wow factor. Since you can tell my food wasn’t chilling in the kitchen getting cold before being delivered.

Plus our cashier/server also happened to be the owner. So any time I meet someone who does a wonderful job ensuring their customers are happy. I want to help spread the word with my positive experience. Great customer service & delicious food is a double win in my book.

This place was so amazing! I wasn’t sure what to expect coming inside, and I almost chickened out of getting the seafood but I am so so so glad I did!! It was so fresh and perfectly cooked! I got the crab and the lobster tail special and it was fantastic! It completely blew me out of the water! The staff was so friendly and the chef was absolutely amazing! Very kind and a very talented cook! Thank you for feeding us burger and crab shack!!! I love seafood but my husband prefers burgers. This wonderful restaurant had both options to please us both! He really enjoyed his burger. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and classic music for a nice ambiance. Truly we are so happy we stopped here. If I was ever back in Sitka, I would stop to eat at this Sitkas burger & crab shack every single time. Go here if you’re ever in Sitka and buy as much as your wallet allows! You will never regret it! Excellent customer service, clean facilities and good selection. The price point is a little high but to be expected during tourist season. Selected the "Juicy Lucy" burger with fries and a drink with a side of ranch. The fresh ground beef patty was very well seasoned and cooked to perfection along with the buttery soft bun and other toppings made a very nice pairing with the crisp yet delicious fries.

The only suggestions I could really offer are maybe a different brand of mushrooms, they have an odd aftertaste that clashes with the Canadian bacon and possibly a home brew ranch instead of pre-packaged hidden valley. Seems like a cheap option to cover a base instead of going all out for flavor like they did with the burger.

All in all it was an enjoyable experience and the employees were nothing but friendly. Would of given 5 stars if it weren't for the price issue, this could be an everyday staple for lunch if you...
