My family and I were visiting Sitka for the first time last week & stopped in at The Cellar for some shopping. We all found several items to buy. As we're paying, I hear the woman at the cashier yell across the store to a kid. Telling him if he breaks it he bought it. I turned to see & it's my 10 yr. old staring back scared & wide eyed. He was actually headed towards me to ask me what the metal object was. I told him it w⁰as to cut candle wicks & asked him to put it back. The cashier continued to grumble as if she was upset. I politely told her there was no need to yell. She just proceeded to repeat "if you break it you bought it", as if there was something wrong with her, never making eye contact. She took my cash payment & then completely ignored me. Immediately as I turned to leave, she started speaking badly about me to her co- worker, RIGHT THERE INFRONT OF ME & OTHER CUSTOMERS! I couldn't believe it. The other employee, a woman, looks at me & I tell her that is completely inappropriate & she should not be treating customers like that. This second woman then ignored what I'm saying & starts gesturing with her hand towards the door while telling me "goodbye, have a nice day". She repeated this 3 times!! What an awful experience we had at the Cellar! With these 2 horrible women with horrid manners. We truly regret giving our business to this store....
Read moreI went in the Cellar to try to find a arts and craft gift for my friend, I went to the place where they'd be and couldn't find anything because of boxes in the way, I looked around and debated asking a employee for help with finding a gift. I looked around and saw nobody, the only employees I could find where at the front desk and they where talking to each other and glaring at me, this happens every time I come here, whenever I do have a interaction with a employee they always act like I am not worth their time and act incredibly rude towards me whenever I ask for help. I decided to just leave and...
Read moreThis store is amazing. You should visit this store when you have a few hours so that you and can take your time. Sitka-related souvenirs are available but other stores have more variety. Friends have visited and this store was top on my list. There is much to see and I've not even scratched the surface of what they have for sale. The prices are a lil high but so far appears...
