Recently I expressed interest in joining 2Tone boxing club. I was looking for a six week program to join so when 2Tone popped up on my IG, I was interested and contacted them to get more information. I spoke with Bryan on the phone and shared some very sensitive and personal information about my eating disorder (ED), with him and expressed that if I joined their gym it would be to gain strength and stamina, and that the focus could not be on weight. He expressed that he had a psychology degree and took a few semesters in nursing school and would be sensitive to that request. After our meeting I spoke with my dietitian and my ED counselor, and we collectively decided that it was not a good fit for me. I contacted Bryan and canceled my nutrition class with him.
The next day he called me twice, back to back, and texted me to remind me to reschedule. I respectfully told him that I would not be moving forward with the 2Tone program, and I thanked him for his time. Instead of taking, "No", for an answer, he asked me, "Why?" And then proceeded to say, "I'm confused because your overweight, your depressed and you want to run 5K's again, but all of a sudden that isn't important anymore?"
I felt Bryan was very aggressive and disrespectful in his method. I felt he spoke to me in a very undignified manner and completely disregarded my request to respect my ED and not focus on weight. Instead of taking, No, for an answer, he took the opportunity to throw the sensitive information I shared with him in my face. I had never said any of that was not important, I only expressed that I would not be moving forward with their program.
Its hard to share about my ED with people, because many people do not understand because they can not relate. And clearly Bryan is one of those people as evidenced by his...
Read moreI wanted to share feedback about my first visit to 2 Tone Boxing on September 7, 2024, at 9:15 AM. I was initially very excited to attend, especially after seeing on your website that your gym is welcoming to senior citizens. However, my experience with the instructor, Rachel, was quite disappointing.
From the start, I felt that Rachel was not very welcoming. This was my first time, and I was unsure of what to do. Despite explaining to her that I have hip and knee problems, she still insisted that I perform exercises like push-ups and squats with weights—movements that my body simply cannot handle at this time. When I tried to express my limitations, she seemed dismissive and even told me, “If you can’t do the work, then leave.” I’ve never had anyone speak to me like that in a fitness setting, and it made me feel very uncomfortable and disrespected.
At 65, I’m aware of my physical limits, and I was hoping for an experience that would take that into consideration. Unfortunately, Rachel’s attitude and lack of empathy made me decide not to return. I was initially open to trying another class with a different instructor, but this encounter has discouraged me from coming back at all.
I wanted to bring this to your attention, as I believe it’s important for instructors, especially when working with older adults, to be mindful and respectful of our needs. I will not be recommending 2 Tone Boxing to others if Rachel continues to instruct without addressing this behavior.
I hope you will take this feedback seriously and have a conversation with Rachel about her approach to ensure a more positive environment for...
Read moreI've read reviews and it looks like everyone had a positive experience but I'm going to be completely honest. I started the 6 week challenge on 4/30. They provided the gym, trainers, meal plan, and an accountability coach. I was required to follow a strict meal plan, weigh in weekly, attend a minimum of 3 classes per week, check-in at 3 weeks, check in on social media for every class I attended, then write this review. It took 1 week for me to get the meal plan and I had to ask for it. After 2 weeks I had to ask for an accountability coach who only checked in with me for like the next 2 weeks and I spent the last 2 weeks all on my own. When I did my initial weigh-in, I showed up at the gym and the coach that was working had no idea I was even showing up and didn't really have time to do that bc he was in the middle of a training session but we were able to get it done. The class did what it promised to do, bc I did lose the 6% body fat and I feel and look amazing, but the communication wasnt really all that good and needs lots of work! If I wasnt self-motivated to get this job done, I never would have succeeded based on all the things they promised me that I didnt really get.
I would recommend this program for people who already have the mindset to get into shape and don't need too much motivation from someone else. The coaches were supportive during class, but after I went home, I...
