As regulars we come here a lot as 2 teenagers because it is inexpensive and walking distance from our home, started off strong as always. Did not get any names but we see our check and see we are charged as a party of 7 when we are 2 for gratuity it went up 18%! We asked for a manger and she got all in my friends face refusing to speak to me, the oldest and only would talk to her so i said something. I was livid i got it fixed the woman/manager were mad we didn’t tip. It took an hour to get food and i love this place and love all the workers except the one manger. I love the head manger and all the other workers. They all love us and we have a good bond with all of them. They are like our friends or family in a way. We always tip well to them as much as we can as two 13 year old girls who do not have a steady income as place of work. Food is amazing as always. We love all the employees just not her. We go downstairs and leave. As we were talking to said manager she spat in my younger friends face and basically told us to shut-up and listen and acted like we were dumb little kids. Crazy how and what this world has come to were a 13 year old has more maturity than a grown adult. All the other staff was on our side. we leave and get my sisters who were comfortably at home and they jump in the car and they go to confront them. The said manager was changing her attitude and her tone and said she did not do that and knew we would say something. No problem at all the waitress we had was new and very good! We were going to tip until they had added a tip themselves and we got it off the check. So my sisters being who they are we’re so mad and took up for me. Said manager could’ve asked for an adult to speak to instead because she was mad that we weren’t tipping our waitress when we only don’t tip her when she serves us because of her rudeness and unreasonable attitude towards my younger best friend and I. We always tip every other waitress and we don’t tip her because of that. She was smoking on the job the other day and on her phone as we were still waiting 45 minutes for our food which is ridiculous. She sat us at a 7 top and claimed next time we came she would’ve said somthing but we didn’t choose to sit there she told us to sit there. The head manager said for our comfortability she would be working upstairs instead of down because we always eat up stairs. We love the head manager! The manager we had an issue with did not know my mom knows the owner. The owner is calling my sister tomorrow and everything’s getting figured out. Should’ve never happened we were just too girls trying to have a fun Tuesday night and go eat before the night was over. I personally love dock house but this really rubbed me the wrong way. It should’ve never came to this. We just wanted to have fun during summer and this is what it comes to are we being serious right now.?! I’ve dealt with someone just like said rude manager and she thought she could manipulate me like that. I lived with someone just like her for 3 years and I know how to handle that stuff. Great way to accommodate us thanks for the service to all the workers. You’re all doing a great job. Keep up the good work! [ex of us being so close to employers there] (we are there and the waitress we normally have says hey girls how y’all doing what’s bothering y’all and she makes a face and laughs with us as she notices my sisters are livid and so are we she is one of the best workers and we also have another one who is my best friends soccer friends mom and she always says hey girls we missed u and we joke around.) Best 2 servers there everyone else is great and so is the head manager, loved them all except the one. So rude to a minor for no reason when she could’ve said something and they didn’t ask to tip themselves even though we were going to tip our...
Read moreAfter a nice afternoon of touring the sites of Beaufort, my family and I looked for a place to eat. With it being a Monday, we had a few less options and settled on the Dock House so that we could enjoy the nice view of the waterway. We should have kept on walking...
Only downstairs was open. The establishment has a good looking second deck, but I can understand maybe not having the staff to cover both level. Unfortunately, all tables were either for two or four people. We were a party of five. When I inquired about more seating, I was told to "just grab a chair from another table and squeeze in." We did.
Our waitress must have been new. She did not know much about the menu, and she did not offer and suggests when we asked. When I asked further about the liquor selections, I just received a fearful face. Okay, she was young - no issue.
The food was just okay - fried anything with fries. I had the oyster sandwich, and it was just that - bun with fried oysters. There was no lettuce, tomato, mayo, or dressing of any kind. The oysters were okay, but the breading was too thick and tasted of gummcurled. My wife's tuna sandwich came with all of the fixing, and she seemed to enjoy it.
My mojito was a bit sweet, but quite large and full of mint. I would drink one again. My wife's margaritas was undrinkable. Something obviously curdled, not sure how that is possible in a margaritas.
As we were about 75% through our meal, our waitress asked if we would like anything else. We replied that we would not order more, she pulled out her handheld device and told us the total of our bill. She also said that she could take our payment right at the table. My wife out down her sandwich, wiped her mouth, and complied.
The waitress then asked us how much tip we would like to give her.
That about summed up our meal. We will not return. There are much better options...
Read moreWe stopped by during lunch, and were seated on the upper deck overlooking the ICW. Very lovely. Our server was young and energetic, attentive and friendly. The food and iced tea were disappointing. We ordered Garden Salad and Hotdogs with fries. Standard things advertised as special. The salad did contain a nice variety of vegetables, but extremely heavy on the onions. The lettuce was chopped big enough that it took flight in the wind with every attempt to spear a bite. It became quite comical if indeed frustrating. The hotdogs were advertised as “messy” and served loaded with a side of pickle and fries. They were not loaded. They were naked. The buns were half hard and seemingly stale. It could have been an attempt to toast the buns, but that attempt fell short. The two hotdogs on my plate looked very different from one another and for a good reason. One was not quite cooked through and still cold in the middle. The side of chili and slow along with the mustard and ketchup bottles on the table were left to the customer for building their own messy hotdog. the slaw was the best thing about the meal. The two bean chili was very bland without much chili flavor or any other for that matter. Most of the bun was discarded in an attempt to finish the meal. Most of the 2nd hotdog was discarded as well. There was no pickle and the fries were extremely bland. Topping off the disappointment was the iced tea. Not brewed. Tasted like the bad processed tea one finds in convenience store coolers. If they are going to be so lazy as to serve processed tea, at least make it Arizona. My reviews usually come with photos. I was too disappointed to think about it at the time, so my description must stand alone. Maybe another dish, another time. Still, it will not be high on my return list during...
