What a great experience we had. First and foremost is the gorgeous view of the water. You feel like you're in a boat because you're so close. Dining and watching the ducks diving was awesome. We arrived at around 5pm on a Friday in March without a reservation and we were lucky enough to get a window table. I'm not sure if that's always the case, so call ahead if the view is important to you. I think this would be a great place to go on a date. The menu is fairly small. However, my husband and I both easily found a couple of options we were happy with. I had the ahi tuna tacos and he had the jerk chicken and wedge salad. When I tell you everything was delicious, I mean amazing. Every single aspect of each dish was spot on and well thought out. Our server, Gypsy, was lovely too. Just the right amount of friendly and very professional. We would like to return to Beaufort just to dine here again and have the same meal! We ordered the strawberry bread pudding to share and it was so very delicious. It was so big that we couldn't quite finish it unfortunately. The bread pudding has fresh tasting strawberries throughout, a strawberry frosting (cream cheese perhaps?), plus whipped cream. So good. The location is right at the beginning of Front Street at number 300, so it's easy to find. I don't usually gush so much over a restaurant, but when it's so good, plus reasonably priced as this one is, I like to spread the joy.

We came here on recommendation from the captain of one of the island excursion boats. He highly recommended it so we thought we would give it a try. While it was not the best overall experience (hence the 4 stars instead of 5) I'll definitely say the food was **exquisite** all around. The portions were fair, the quality of the ingredients was top notch, and the flavor was truly superb. I ordered the pork chop, which was delicious in its own right, but the potatoes and gravy that came along with it were probably the best flavored version of that dish I've ever had. Everyone in our party agreed that their food was especially delicious. The experienced lacked on two fronts: 1. What felt like a small menu and 2. The service. The menu was small but, most importantly, it offered very few traditional options, and the ones offered were quite expensive. The service from our waiter was not terrible but not as good as it could have been. The restaurant had other patrons bit very few comparatively and several wait staff so plenty of people to handle the few diners there. We only ordered water for beverages and only got refills once, and even then only after we specifically asked for it. There was not much enthusiasm in the service or real attentiveness. With so many other options to try nearby, I wouldn't expect to visit again until trying out others. Unless, of course, I was suddenly in the mood for another delicious porkchop!

**update We came to the Rumbar (bar area of Front street grill) and had drinks with friends. Amy and Trish are always spot on for drinks. My last experience here did not sit well for a few reasons. Just combined with the fact it was for a birthday dinner. We had reservations for 7pm and were sat well past 7:40 (people please, when you are finished with your dinner and drinks move to another area as others are waiting for your table). That itself just made the evening kind of go downhill. The server did not seem at all engaging , put off if you will, and not all that friendly. Maybe just too many tables to take care of. As far as the food? I settled on the Cajun (?) Pasta , great flavor, but it had no substance and I couldn't even count on my hands how many pieces of shrimp and sausage it had (chicken was barely there). It was like no effort, simply pasta , forego the Beaty eyed crawfish which i dont eat, no one's fault. One friends steak was perfect , the others was cooked wrong and since our food took even longer than our seated time we did not ask for a reorder. I understand busy, I understand hiring and employee issues. But I'm a frequent visitor to Beaufort and FSG and this was simply not on par, save Oliver who was simply amazing and gracious. Rarely do I write these reviews, but again, birthday dinner , truly disappointed.

I had hopes of a good meal here, after reading recent reviews, but tonight was dismal. Front of house was awesome, very friendly and apologetic for the server being down, they cautioned us we could order drinks but no food until it was back up. Our server rushed us throughout the entire meal, and didn't know the menu, he didn't even offer the specials, until we asked. I don't blame him, I blame management for not training him. The calamari were fresh and crispy, with two dipping sauces, which were just OK. My partner's soft shell crab was good, but the sauteed grouper was under (not) seasoned. My flounder was completely tasteless, no seasoning with a sad, soggy bread crumb crust. The buerre blanc was smeared on top and was luke warm. The sauteed vegetables were limp, overcooked, and completely without any seasoning. I sent my flounder back and the server looked surly. He asked if I wanted anything else, and I asked if they had salads. He responded "What do you want," to which I said "DO you know the menu? Can you tell me?" He rolled his eyes and recounted the offerings. I asked for the Meyer Lemon Caesar. It was a huge plate, loaded with romaine leaves, no hearts, and the dressing had no flavor. No hints of Meyer Lemon at all. The croutons were not house made (which he confirmed) and I sent the salad back as well. No one from management came to our table to ask about our experience or why we sent food back. The server looked humiliated and we felt bad for him. It wasn't his fault. If you're looking for a great meal in Beaufort, this is not where you want to eat. What I'm left with is that Management is saying to customers: "If you don't like our food, eat somewhere...
