I’ve attended the 2nd street cinema 7 times now and would have given five stars for all the positive experiences my friends and I have had so far, however, the mark of a true five star experience is when problems arise and how well management handles those problems when they happen. In that case, 2nd street cinema management deserves zero stars. I want to point out that some of the problems are really the abysmal corporate policies that 2nd street cinema management must enforce but the local manager who handled my problem was horrible at best.
I purchased tickets online on the cinema west app for a movie two days later. I woke up with a migraine the morning of the show and went to the app to cancel my tickets, minus the booking fee of course. Guess what?? If you purchase on their app you can’t get a refund on the app!! If you purchase on Fandango you can get a refund before the show and Harkins does the same. So they can electronically sell you a ticket on the app, take your money on the app, send you emails on the app, send you your electronic ticket on the app, but have no way to refund your money on the app??? At this point of my migraine I’m unable to drive safely so I keep exploring the app for a loophole but to no avail so I send an angry email complaining about the situation and send it via 2nd st cinema at 8 am not expecting much and the manager emails me back that I have to come in person to the theater for a refund. I email back I have a migraine and can’t drive easily and is there any other way, he emails me “no other way”. I email back what time do you open and he says 10:30. I happen to live at sun lakes and am very close so I drive over to get a refund, as they don’t deserve to steal my money, and they don’t open till 11:00!!
The manager was so short and rude, no apology for their policies. No sympathy for my illness. Who cares attitude. I have 25 years of government management experience at a busy medical clinic and know there are better ways to...
Read moreI decided to go see “A Quiet Place Part II” to check out the newly-built movie theater in Beaumont, CA. As I approached the movie theater I noticed how clean the construction of the building was and they had a sign clearly displayed regarding when to wear a mask. The ticketing kiosks are to your right and if you purchase a ticket online, which we did, you can go to the two booths on your left. One of the ladies at the booth reminded my guest to wear his mask 😷, which was good to see that the rules were being enforced. Then it was off to the concessions. They offered wine and beer, which appeared to be popular and popcorn, hotdogs and flatbread pizzas. The prices were typical for a larger theater. Once we ordered our food we showed our tickets at the next designated station and they also had a designated pick-up area for pizza and hotdogs. Popcorn and drinks were given at the concession counters. It looked busy on a Saturday at 7:00pm. After picking up pizza we went into our movie’s auditorium. Everything looked neat, clean and the first thing I noticed were the comfortable, reclining chairs with tabletops for food and holders for drinks. I think this is the best part of this theater because I could recline without hitting the chair in front of me or feel that my knees were being crushed due to a lack of room. The surround sound was pretty loud, but I didn’t notice anyone complaining about it. Especially, during one of the advertisements before the movie is when it was too loud to me, but during the movie it was okay. My overall experience with the theater was a positive one. The staff were all friendly and professional, which always makes the experience worthwhile. The restrooms were clearly labeled as well. I would return for another movie here very soon. My guest was definitely a fan of the reclining seats 💺, which reminded him of watching a movie at home, but on a much larger screen. He’ll be back too most...
Read moreCRISP PICTURE QUALITY & AMAZING SEATS! 2nd Street Cinema is my theater of choice when it comes to premium screens. The Dolby Atmos laser screens are GIANT and the sound quality is fantastic. The theater is super comfortable and the seats recline! There's a button on each seat that allows you to adjust your seat to your personal comfort level! I make sure to recline my seat all the way out, it's perfect.
The theater experience here is very immersive, I came to watch Alien: Romulus and I felt like I was flying through space lol. I don't know why people say the surround sound system is too loud, it's just right! I've been to theaters all over SoCal and I can tell you this is one of the best.
Prices are a little high with some concessions, a pizza flatbread is almost $10 and a large Icee is $7.50. A matinee ticket for a premium screen is $14.25 which is okay I suppose. I don't knock the theater down on this as all the food is pretty good. However, I came alone and ended up spending over $31 just for myself. The staff at the concessions stand were super friendly and professional. The ticket taker was also wonderful.
I'm pretty happy with the team here, everyone is working hard and keeping the theater tidy. 2nd Street Cinema has large bathrooms, the stalls are usually quite clean. The seats and cupholders are also kept clean. I love that this theater has hardwood floors in the auditoriums, it gives a modern look and is far better than carpet!
