I've come to a point in my life where I can't give HEB any more chances. Unfortunately, I've sworn off shopping there in the past, but every few months I'd give them another shot. My issue has always been with the Meat Department and the multitude of unsanitary products / situations I've encountered. I don't mean to dwell on past experiences, but it has continued to be relevant to my grievances. In the past I've come home with fowl smelling meat and that was addressed. Secondly, I've had meat that was a suspect color (Green) on the bottom and that was explained. Thirdly, I got home and opened a "fresh" package of meat that was a week out of date. That I take full responsibility for and check all my dates before I leave the store. I was disappointed when I returned to the store to inform the manager that I just bought week old meat that day. My disappointment stemmed from the fact that when we looked through the remaining similar cut products, all were expired. It should never have remained on display and I should have paid better attention. Lastly, today is the final straw as I went back after months of abstaining from the whole facility. I went with the intention of getting some good looking cuts of meat for a hosted dinner. I found some good specials and rifled through meat looking for a package that wasn't torn open. The first two packages I settled on had to be placed back in the bin due to having large holes in the front of the package. The final package of meat I settled on looked to fit the bill and wasn't torn down the front. I got up to the front to pay and my wife said "oh, there's two holes at the top". In my rush and desire to find the perfect package of meat I pulled a package that may not have been torn across the front, but had holes down the front corner. Their solutions were to re-wrap the meat or go cut me some more. I chose to leave and bring my business somewhere else, for good. Farewell HEB it was a tumultuous affair that was rewarding at time and deeply frustrating at others. It's the little things that make a solid meat department and the Beaumont HEB has been...
Read more** I am loving shopping at HEB. Your incredible staff keeps me coming back. I want to brag on a few of the employees. First off Dana. Thank you so very much for assisting me in trying to locate wonton wrappers. They are usually in grocery stores next to the veggies. But I could not find them anywhere. You used your handy tool, and I learned that you all do not sale them. He did spend quite a bit of time looking and even directed me to the aisle wherein a facsimile of wrappers perhaps could have been used. I think it was aisle 7 or 18. Great way to make a customer happy Dana. Next, I want to brag on Katelyn who I interrupted several times to direct me to items such as water flavoring and the Kind miniature bars. Each time I approached her she had a huge smile on her face and never seemed to be bothered by my interruptions. Thanks much. Your kindness was above and beyond and so very much appreciated. Lastly, I would like to commend the checker Mya on how quickly she scanned my groceries and her assistance with assuring all my groceries were handled with care: eggs, gift card, Oreo cookies and plant. It is certainly the little things that goes a long way. Thank you so much Mya. **
Such an splendid experience on my visit to HEB Plus. My husband usually does all the shopping but recently had surgery so guess who was up. I want to give a shout out to Oscar and David who I stopped several times to ask where things were located. I was highly impressed that not only did they tell me the aisle the item was located on, but took it a step forward with telling me side of aisle it was on and exactly where it was placed. WOW!!! Thanks so much for a clean store, with lots of lanes open (so literally no waiting) and hiring people who care. I wish I would have taken down the name of the checker and bagger as they were just...
Read moreLove love love this grocery warehouse. Great prices anyone can afford. Some of the staff in the vegetable section could learn how to smile more always so grumpy looking. But 99% of the others a super sweet and friendly. Always willing to help you. Greatest selection of meat I’ve ever seen. I have bought a lot of steaks and chops from the butcher display case and when you cook it. Ohhhhhh honey melts in your mouth. Goood stuff. Clean and orderly. Only bad thing is that FUNKY SMELL from the seafood that hits you the minute you go in the door. Nasty smell. I always have my tissue ready to cover my nose hahaha. My husband loves the lemon meringue pie and variety of the rotisserie chicken. I’ll be there again tomorrow doing my weekly shopping THANK YOU HEB for serving the community with all ethnic varieties of food
Let me add a post script onto this. Since the writing of this review Several updates have been made to the store. Excellent choice of remodeling. That Funky smell is gone when you walk in the door. Super AAA-plus on that. I love the new super big avocados. Don’t mind paying the price asked on them huge things.
The bakery oh my goodness. Let me tell you how good these folks are. This you g lady went above and beyond to help me get a beautiful delicious birthday cake. Ohhhhhh. It was sooooo yummy. Smiling all the time. So much help finding what I want. I just ask and because I’m in a handicap cart those precious employees will help me reach stuff way up high. Wish they invent a shelf that rolls down some how to get the way up stuff. Anyway. Just wanted to share that with you. 20 cashiers ready to...
