Is there a ZERO STAR option to rate this joint?
I saw in an older Facebook review of this place where some guy said he saw cockroaches in the store. I never thought much of it. It was probably just some disgruntled customer. I never have seen any roaches there, but what I did see was far worse.
What I saw was the owner of this store personally attack that reviewer with viciousness, vitriol and profanity. It was so foul that I later went back to show it to some friends, but it was all gone. Probably this moron (I think his name is Mark O.) came to his senses and removed it. He would NEVER want his customers to see this VERY dark side of him. Perhaps, his mental tirade was so profane that Facebook removed the review.
Well, that was about a year ago and I had forgotten about it until... Lo and behold! I saw a HUGE cockroach in there. And if you see one of those things, there are millions. Oh! I could only imagine what the basement of this place looks like and surely they store their inventory down there. YEEUUCH !!!
Well, I left my cart right there in the aisle and, like Elvis, LEFT THE BUILDING !!!
I wonder if their rude and obnoxious owner will attack me personally like he did that other guy. But who cares? If it prevents even only one person from getting sick and/or save him money, this review will have been worth it.
As for me, I only shopped there as it was close by and I could walk there. I have to be less lazy and do my shopping more wisely. The prices at Beaver Supermarket just SUCK! I've heard it said that only the upper scale Beaverites and yuppies can afford to shop there. It's kind of like that Starbucks mystique. I see that they always have some sucker items on sale cheap to get you in the store. It's then that they hope you pick up your other groceries too. I can't tell you how many times I went there for that sucker item and it was sold out. They say "limited quantities" so it gets them off the hook. This "bait and switch" tactic is ANOTHER reason I'll NEVER shop there again.
My routine now is to do ALL of my shopping at Sav-A-Lot in Beaver Falls and Aldi's in either Baden, Monaca or Chippewa. I hit Shop'n Save in Rochester for their specials and rarely go to Giant Eagle for their specials too. If Beaver Supermarket fell off the face of the planet, I would never miss it.
