This shop is AMAZING. I never bother to post reviews, but this shop is always such an unusual experience I don't even know where to begin. Meghan, the owner, and her mom, Sue made me feel as if I was reliving my youth. I grew up in San Francisco, and for charity events, we regularly shopped Gumps and Saks, where the service and quality were of the highest caliber. This is the standard of EXCELLENCE this team provided to me-while simultaneously making me feel as if I were FAMILY. The service was at a level simply unknown in our time. OUTSTANDING. The selection of gowns and accessories you will immedietly identify as carefully, curated by EXPERTS in high-end fashion. It's always in the details, and you will notice it, instantly. The environment was unpretentious-class. So appropriate for the area. it's the epitamy of PNW style and warmth. In a city that loves dogs, I LOVED the two, white, impeccably groomed, Great Pyrenes, who quietly and politely greeted me at the door. Meghan, not knowing if I was uncomfortable with dogs, was SO sweet in asking me if I was okay, and I really appreciated her sensitivity. It is hard to imagine anyone being offended by these unassuming, polite dogs, but she was so right to ask. The prices versus the quality was ASTONISHING. I had a limited budget for my gown and accessories, and after trying on several designs, I finally had to choose one. I stayed WELL below my budget, and wore a gown to my event, unlike anyone else in attendance. THAT'S the beauty of shopping high-end, vintage-the designs are TIMELESS, tasteful, and virtually-unique, as one attends events like proms, Quincenaras, (my neighbor's niece was the BELLE of the Quincenara in the gown she purchased here-and the ladies made her feel so SPECIAL, and grown-up), charity dinners, etc. I am impossible to please, so I have no idea what the heck the few, bad reviews are about. My co-worker's cousin was across the sidewalk when the older lady, by mistake, hit Meghan's vehicle in a parking lot she should not have been in, and he said they handled the situation, very graciously. For one thing, Meghan owns that whole lot, for YOU, her valued customer-NOT the other businesses' customers. It is SO CLEARLY marked as private parking. The crappy hair place next-doors owner is nasty, if I'm honest. I don't leave bad reviews, but I would NEVER step foot in that salon, AGAIN. Nasty. These things happen, I guess, but it bugs you, when you see someone disparage a great business, with bad reviews that are lies. Anyway. RUN-DON'T WALK-to this unbelievable gem of a store to find your next dress. You...
Read moreThe clothing is very well curated, but the one time I went in I was completely ignored by the owner, who were more interested in chatting with a mother and daughter pair who had just purchased several hundred dollars’ worth of merchandise. I’m not sure she even greeted me. I did have my baby-almost-toddler girl with me, but she was quiet the whole time, stayed on my hip/in my arms, and I did not allow her to touch anything.
I had a few questions and I was interested in talking with hero about vintage clothing, but in the 20-30 minutes I waited, she barely even looked at me. The customers before me seemed to be regulars (or at least repeat customers), but that doesn’t excuse ignoring new potential customers!
Not bothering to go back. I’d rather make the drive into Portland, where at least the staff pay...
Read moreMy daughter and I visited The Vault today at lunch. What a great surprise! A beautiful collection of vintage clothing, jewelry, shoes and purses. The store is set up such that it's easy to find a genre or type (beaded, lace, summer, little black dress). Megan (sp?) was so helpful and friendly. My daughter purchased two very nice pieces and will be coming back for more once her college budget allows! Valentino & Barley were a bonus, two beautiful white Pyrenees that are very sweet and well behaved, it was a joy to love on them while we were there. Another reason why I love Portland so much - we are a dog friendly town! Thank you Megan for welcoming us. We'll be back soon! Deana,...
