I had a fantastic experience at Rehana Restaurant. The owners were incredibly friendly and helpful when it came to choosing from the menu—which, by the way, had several dishes I was eager to try. When I asked what was best, the owner's wife laughed warmly and said it was all good—an answer that made me feel right at home. I ended up going with the eggplant special, as I had been leaning toward it, and she suggested adding a beef kabab to round out the meal. I’m so glad I did—the food was amazing. The flavors were rich and perfectly balanced, and the rice was especially memorable—fluffy, fragrant, and delicious. The beef kabab was tender and full of flavor, and the eggplant dish was a standout. Everything about this place—from the hospitality to the food—made it a standout experience. I’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu!

Came here late one night in Portland. Blown away by the service — we were promptly seated, given a full overview of the menu, and ever personal recommendations from the chef himself. He made it very clear that we ought to explore the Egyptian-Iraqi cuisine his family was sharing with Portland, so he insisted we get Moussaka, a lamb plate, and kabob plate. We were served in no less than 15 minutes and were blown away by the freshness and attention to detail. The lamb was fall off the bone tender, the Moussaka paired incredibly well with the fresh bread, and the Iraqi tea reminded me of many fond times in CA. 100% recommend if you’re in Portland.

We absolutely love this place. It’s been a while since we made it back to visit. Always great customer service and amazing tasting food with huge portion sizes. Last time we were in my daughter had a shrimp plate she fell in love with. As we visited tonight we asked about the shrimp plate and learned they took it off the menu. The owner said his wife was bringing shrimp for them to eat for dinner but he wanted to make it for my daughter since she loved it so much. He insisted and we accepted. The customer service from this family is always so kind, and generous. We highly recommend this place and will be back soon!

I am typically someone who writes positive reviews and speaks highly of the places I visit because I appreciate good service. However, my recent experience at this establishment has left me quite frustrated.

When I visited, we were charged extra just for asking for additional dressings. These dressings came in tiny portions, barely 1 mg each. When you dine out, you expect such items to be included in the meal price. If there is an additional charge, it should at least be communicated upfront.

In most restaurants, when you order a dish, you expect to receive a reasonable amount of sauces or dressings without extra charges. For instance, at places like Burger King, they might charge $0.25 per sauce but usually provide a minimum of three or four without any issue. Here, however, we were charged $1 per sauce, which seems excessive.

Additionally, the establishment lacks air conditioning, making it very uncomfortable, especially on hot days. The seating area is cramped, and the bathroom was not only dirty but also old. The bathroom, which should be the cleanest place when you walk in, clearly isn't cleaned regularly and needs to be repainted or otherwise addressed. Furthermore, the overall cleanliness of the place was lacking. The prices do not match the quality or ambiance of the establishment, and the music was excessively loud, adding to the discomfort.

I understand that the food is good, but the way they nickel-and-dime customers over sauces and napkins is disappointing. Moreover, the owner or manager constantly suggesting different dishes when you already know what you want is quite annoying. It’s important to respect customers' choices and provide a comfortable and transparent dining experience.

As someone who typically gives positive feedback and appreciates good service, it’s disheartening to have to write this review. Sometimes, business owners don't realize that small, annoying details like these can cost them lifelong customers, or at least customers for as long as the business lasts. My intention in writing this review is to make the owners aware of these issues so they can address them and realize that a business cannot thrive if it operates with a "penny-pinching" mindset. I hope the management takes these concerns seriously to improve the overall experience for...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this wonderful establishment, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I walked in, the speed at which the food was served was impressive, a clear indication that the staff values the customer's time and dining experience. My nine year old son loved the food!

The food, oh the food, was absolutely delicious! It’s evident that they strive for authenticity in every dish they serve, making each bite a delightful journey of flavors. It’s rare to find a place that truly captures the essence of their cuisine, and they’ve nailed it.

The owners are the heart and soul of this restaurant. Their passion and dedication shine through in every aspect, from the quality of the food to the warmth of their service. They are genuinely great people who go above and beyond to ensure that their guests have a memorable dining experience.

I wish nothing but success for them. The food industry needs more people like them—kind, attentive, clean, and above all, passionate about what they do. It's clear that they love their craft, and it reflects in the high quality of their service and food.

To anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience, look no further. This place is a gem that deserves all the recognition and success...

Delicious, exotic meal that felt likeI was eating at an inviting family home!

My family went to Rehana for dinner and were so impressed with how delicious everything came out. The service was incredibly warm and welcoming. It was crowded when we got here but we didn't have to wait long and the host checked on us often. We ordered so much and the portions were ample that they gave us a 2nd table to host it all!

Hummus was creamy and pita soft and fantastic grill. Sambosas were hot and perfectly filled. Hot Mezza plate was amazing (I could have eaten a whole bowl of the charred cauliflower and I have never had such a flavorful, spiced Moussaka). The chicken kebob and beef over Iraqi bread was amazing. The chicken was so juicy. Beef perfectly seasoned. We all had Hibiscus blushes which were so refreshing and the Egyptian coffee was perfect (took the owners advice and had it without sugar and just dipping the Basbousa in it).

The chef came out to ask us if we liked everything. They were so happy to see us enjoying the food it felt like going to your aunties house.

Will definitely come back again. Couldn't help but feel overwhelmingly welcomed and food so amazing my kids talked about it all the way home. Thank you, Rehana!

I wish I took photos. Will...
