One night last week I came home from work and was craving pizza, not ordinary pizza but good thin crust - that is both crisp and a bit of toothy texture. Neapolitan Style. We set out for our local place but my partner said he just read about a pizza place in Beaverton that made a Top 20 in the Nation list by The NY Times. Say no more, take me THERE. There was Hapa Pappa. It is in a small non-descrip cinder block building but go inside and there is a legit pizza oven. Lots of happy diners inside and out. No free tables but we were invited to share a table outside. I asked the owner which pizzas they were famous for and he said the Pho and the Bàhn Mì, but they also had a legitimately good Margarita pizza. This all proved true when we got our Bàhn Mì and Margarita pizzas. Soooo delicious!!! The crust is crispy and toothy — the texture you can only get if the dough is proofed for 24 hours. The owner was both running fast serving happy customers but was also smiling non-stop. He looked the kind of happy you must feel when your pizza is world class and you can watch your customers enjoying them. Almost as if he is wondering is this real or did I dream it. I’m sure it was no dream but lots of hard work now rewarded with I expected fame. I wish great things for this place: the wonderful people running this place deserve all...
Read moreThis is an Asian fusion pizza restaurant, offering unique Vietnamese and Thai pizzas in addition to the usual flavors. We tried one of their most popular pizzas, the Banh Mi Pizza plus Garlic Parmesan Cheesy Bread. Not only did the taste exceed our expectations and complement the pizza perfectly, but the hand-kneaded dough was crispy on the outside and moist and delicious on the inside. For dessert, we indulged in the Okinawan Sweet Potato Haupia Bar. The combination of coconut and purple sweet potato was a delightful match, with sweetness that wasn't overpowering. The large parking lot behind the building is also a great convenience. Every dish was delicious, so we look forward to trying others next time.🤤
02/01/2024 We had the Pho Pizza and the Peanut Sauce Pizza, and the PhoPizza was just as good as the Bahn Mee Pizza, a Vietnamese dish turned into a pizza.🤤 However, the peanut sauce pizza was a little different for our tastes as we felt the combination of peanuts and cheese canceled each other out. Both pizzas were delicious and the dough was chewy.🤤 The only disappointment was that the water tasted terrible. Actually, it bothered us last time and it was the same this time. There were not enough kinds of drinks, so we had no favorite drink and could not drink any water. Other than that, it is...
Read moreWe ordered 3 pizzas: Panang curry with chicken, banh mi, and pepperoni for our picky 11 year old son. In addition, we also ordered the Thai Steak Salad.
My husband and I inhaled the Panang curry pizza. It was like dipping a nice chewy bread in a sweet curry. I would order this again.
My son didn’t go crazy for the pepperoni pizza because he is a devout Pizzicato pizza kid so my husband ate most of it and said it was “pretty good”.
The banh mi pizza and steak salad ended up going home with us. The salad had potential but didn’t do it for me. I had to dump out all the dressing because it was drowning the salad. The steak was quite tough even though it tastes good (does that make sense)? The crispy ground roasted rice was more like broken rice size, so when you bite into it, you almost feel like you cracked a tooth. I would probably not order the steak salad sadly.
The banh mi pizza sat for a few hours in the fridge before I got around to eating it. I didn’t reheat it so just ate it cold. Wow! It tastes just like eating a Vietnamese grilled pork banh mì with chewy bread. The pickled carrots and radish were still super crispy and the overall taste profile was just delish. I would order the banh mi pizza again just to eat it cold later.
Overall, good pizza. Pleasant staff at restaurant, and restaurant dedicated parking...
