Home Consignment Center - Bee Cave — Attraction in Bee Cave

I've consigned items there for years and they've always sold. I consigned some items there last year and went to inquire about why I hadn't received any checks for some of the very nice items I dropped off. They decided to "donate" my items without my permission and never got a signature from me or anything of the sort. I've contacted them more than once for a resolution to this issue for months now and all I'm getting is crickets. Just be aware that if you drop off your items, you may never receive the money that's owed to you when they take charge of your personal items and do what they want with them without your permission. Also, they've become much too expensive at this location. I can buy new items for not much more than they're selling used items for. I won't consign there again unless they deal with this situation. I'm sad to say that but I felt like they haven't been honest with me and trust has been broken. I've been holding off on writing this review because I wanted to give them a chance before saying something publicly but felt it was important for others to know that they didn't deal squarely with me and this is after years of being a faithful...

They sold my family a couch that was defective and broke almost immediately after we moved it into our house. After pleading with them to help us, their manager Monica, begrudgingly agreed to pay for an hour of a furniture repairman. I was supposed to get a call back from her assistant to schedule an appointment but never got the call or a message.

I didn't hear from them for a couple of weeks, got a little busy myself and decided to call her back. I did not expect what happened next at all.

After waiting on hold for 15 minutes, I got Monica back on the phone only to fiind out that she reneged on our agreement and will not pay for the furniture repairman, which would have been a pittance of their sales volume. Just a shocking punch in the gut and totally unreasonable treatment.

I won't be doing business with these people again. I thought that everything was fine and was very surprised that she would go back on her word like...

We tried to sell our items on Craigs List at what we thought were reasonable prices, but we heard about Home Consignment Center and took our stuff there to see if they could have some luck. We were worried that only getting half of their sale price would not be worth the trip down there, but they put a higher price tag on our items and we received almost as much as we would have if sold on Craigslist and did not have to mess with all the questions and scammers that would reply. Their store is nicely arranged and most items are quality items. My only complaint was that our dining table and chairs was displayed way in the back of the store with other items crammed close or on top of it.
