Big 5 is a great place to shop for a wide variety of sporting goods and outdoor equipment. My recent visit left me quite impressed with the store's extensive selection and overall shopping experience.
The store is well-organized, making it easy to navigate through the different sections. Whether you're looking for athletic apparel, footwear, camping gear, or fitness equipment, Big 5 has it all. I was particularly pleased with the variety of brands and products available, catering to both casual enthusiasts and serious athletes.
The staff at this location are friendly and helpful. They greeted me promptly upon entering and were readily available to assist with any questions I had. Their knowledge about the products and willingness to provide recommendations made my shopping experience smooth and enjoyable.
One of the highlights of shopping at Big 5 is their competitive pricing and frequent sales. I found some great deals on high-quality items, which made my visit even more worthwhile. The clearance section also offered some fantastic bargains, allowing me to get more value for my money.
The only reason I'm not giving a full five stars is that the store could benefit from a slightly larger inventory in certain categories. There were a few specific items I was looking for that were out of stock. However, the staff offered to check availability at other locations and online, which was helpful.
Overall, Big 5 Sporting Goods on Factoria Blvd provides a solid shopping experience for anyone in need of sporting goods and outdoor gear. With its wide selection, helpful staff, and great prices, it's a go-to spot for all your athletic and outdoor needs. I highly recommend it and will definitely be returning for...
Read moreI saw online a sale for a rifle that I wanted to buy. After visiting the store to review the product, I was disappointed the only one left was the display model. That's okay, it was a pretty good deal, and the display model seemed in good condition. After deciding to purchase it, the manager came over to go over the background check application with me. Neglecting to ask about ammo beforehand, I didn't realize how difficult it was to have the necessary ammo due to its popularity, and how seldom the store actually carried the ammo until I asked after the manager was boxing up the rifle for me. Realizing I hadn't done the proper research and not wanting to have a rifle sit and collect dust, I politely told the manager I had made and mistake, apologized, and said I wouldn't be making the purchase that day. Instead of understanding that these things happen in retail, she berated me and made me feel embarrassed for having submitted a background check. Obviously there's no harm for me to submit one, whether I take home a rifle or not. I think she was annoyed with having processed the application and didn't come out of it with a sale, and felt her time was wasted. I was made to feel like she was doing me a favor instead of a customer who enjoys frequenting their store. Now I can't visit the store anymore without feeling like I owe them time and a rifle purchase, so I won't be patronizing this...
Read morePLEASE NOTE: SHOP ELSEWHERE. May I suggest Dick's Sporting Goods if you need something immediate?
The prices and selection of general, entry-level sporting goods from baseball to airsoft is pretty decent for a brick-and-mortar store. It is a clean store.
I was there on a late Saturday afternoon on 5/10/2025 and the customer service was lacking hard, and there were three employees who just had zero desire to be there. One employee wandered the store and didn't ask any customer there if they needed help with anything. You walk in, and none of the employees greet you. You shop there, and the cashier tells you the total and just hands you the receipt. There's no "thank you for shopping at Big 5" or any of that store etiquette. Mind you, I spent about $60 on a baseball bat and some balls, I'm not saying treat me like a king but good God, have some decency to not make me feel like I should hate your job with you.
Anyway, if you aren't in dire need to get something immediately, shop elsewhere or shop online because this place needs to get its customer service act together. It won't surprise me if this place shutters like Sears soon enough. Or hire some people who don't look like they hate their job and every customer is an...
