My insurance company received my complaint and offered an education. I learned that because my insurance is “in network” the provider (Advanced Medical Massage) files insurance claims based on an agreed amount that is less than what is charged to those without insurance or..... those who’s automobile insurance pays when in an automobile accident!
I have a prescription for weekly massage and have benefited for over a years. I was told that Advance Medical Massage can not see me once a week any more.
This is the first time I’ve seen this kind of prejudice. Basically, the metrics prove that a once a week massage from an “in network” provider (whereby office staff hours are used to file insurance) is not a good money maker! I am the hated face of the one who doesn’t bring in the bucks! And boy, was this hate made clear today!
My experience is that Massage Therapy has now been officially slimed by greed. It is down right unethical to use the word “medical” in the name of this company if the patient is treated like a mere unit of payment and scheduling is prioritized as such, rather than medical rationale!
On aside, I asked for conflict resolution and was told by the office manager that the owner gave her full and complete authority. She said that no one had more authority than she had and there was no other representative I could communicate my concerns. I would not be writing here today if there was another option for me.
My experience with the massage therapists - extremely beneficial. My experience with owner and her choice in her new “highest authority”.... not so much! After I tend to my emotional wounds from a little ego, dependent on perceived power of scheduling appointments, I do believe I’ll be glad I will no longer associate therapy and massage therapists with such front desk anti-life behavior. Ironically, the threat of the office manager’s inabilities exposed her lack of self confidence and wellbeing. Her lack of education and ability to live the truth was revealed when protecting herself meant firing me as a client. Sad, really. I hope she heals.....
I think there are severe behind the scene, deep problems at Advance Medical Massage. I smell a greedy rat using the reality of health care to bleed a weak and failing system! I think this because of my experience and lack of care and concern for my communication and hope of resolve. The lil “you’re fired” trumped me today. ...
Read moreIf you need a health and wellness massage this is the place! To be clear I pay cash and I would still use this business even if though they don't accept my insurance. As a nursing student, and on line, my shoulders, upper back neck, jaw and so forth were not happy (stress). I also have range of motion/pain issues. Due to the covid 19 virus their safe practices consist of outdoor air flow inside, hand washing for all who enter, temperature check, plenty of hand sanitizer, and a mask if you forget yours. I wore my mask for the entire appointment except while on my stomach (while my head was in the face cradle-mask on is optional at that point). Friendly staff. Excellent LMP's! Have been there 2 times and have another appointment. $85.00 cash pay. Call for more information regarding types of insurance accepted. Also they are injury specialists (car injury is what I know). They provide the legal documentation for MVA (Motor vehicle accidents) providing you have PIP (personal injury protection). My daughter loves this place and has received much needed therapy due to a car accident. Very nice environment, but you don't feel like that's what your money is paying for. I have been to at least 15 therapists over the years for massage. Ranging from home to a quick 10 min. chair massage, to other LMP businesses. I always forget how much health benefits massage provides. This one ranks at number 1. Side note. I have also had about 6 Rolphing appointment's. If you are trying to decide which type of massage I highly recommend Advanced Medical massage over a Rolphing therapist, and that is my opinion only. I also paid cash for the Rolphing at $145.00 per visit. The one I have seen, and still have prepaid massage's with is a local Bellingham Rolphing business. As a general rule do what works best for your body. For the price (145.00 for Rolphing) I have seen more improvement with medical massage vs...
Read moreI was in a car accident, and my doctor referred me to massage therapy. I was really nervous, I had never had a massage before. Advanced Medical Massage was amazing - they were (and still are) a source of help and hope throughout my recovery. Chelea is the best - but I have heard great things about all of their massage therapists, I don't think you can go wrong. Some of the best things about AMM:
1 - Best communication EVER. You can call, email, text, and someone actually responds to you. Like quickly. Sometimes even outside regular hours. That alone is worth its weight in gold.
2 - Hassle-Free. They know their auto insurance biz for sure. They took my information and dealt with all of that, so I didn't have to. Once it was in their hands, all I saw was that my insurance was paying the bills.
3 - The experience. My therapist was professional, caring, present, and aware of what I was feeling. She checked in regularly, asking consent for things and making me feel very safe. I can't say enough good things about her!
4 - The newbie experience. Like I said, I was really nervous the first time. Everyone was welcoming, patient with all my questions. They walked me through everything, and I felt safe and comfortable the whole time. If you've never had a massage, you are in good hands.
5 - The front desk staff. Warm, welcoming, friendly, personable. How do they remember everyone's name? It's the little things, people, and they have all the little things down.
This review is way too long, but what I'm telling you is that if you were in a car accident, and need massage therapy, THIS IS THE PLACE TO...
