Rough singles selection with a lot of cheaper stale cards that won’t move. Great wax selection with prices relatively competitive. Probably one of the best overall shops in terms of box variety I’ve been to.
Was in the shop for 40 minutes and dealt with a really nice employee. Every time I made an offer on a card he went back and talked to the owner for 5 minutes and came back and said they won’t budge on their prices. At one point the employee said he would honor a price but info don’t buy it they are going to raise the price, yet wouldn’t look at comps on cards they were overpriced on. Ultimately was looking for 5% off of a $500+ deal and there was no movement and the owner couldn’t be bother to walk out of the office.
For being open 9 weeks, place has a lot of potential but if they are buying stale average players, their “showcase” cards average about $35, and they can’t move 5% (essentially covering the tax) on $500 deals, it’s going to be tough sledding with so many other places around that work with buyers.
Adding in response to the owner’s comment, if I’m in the store for over 30 minutes (as you saw because you have cameras in the office you were in) and I’m asking questions about prices, you can’t spend 5 minutes to come out an negotiate? That would have been quicker than your employee constantly going back and forth to talk to you. Was interested in the USA Harper BGS 9.5 (way over comps based on subs and sales), Merrill SC Orange (20% over comps), judge ref (the comp your employee referenced only shows up on alt and nowhere else). Your charizard 5 and 7 were also thoughts but you weren’t willing to come out and talk after your employee went back to you multiple times about prices. Crazy 5% is a deal breaker when you pay a measly 70% on liquid ultra modern. But it is what it is. Good luck with the shop. Will say your employee was amazing, had a few great conversations with him and he seemed genuinely interested in helping me and learning...
Read moreI’ve been to this shop 5-10x. Every other time was good. Besides the normal price gouging. But today I was off work and decided to ride my scooter approx 1.5hours to this shop to pick up some stuff for my PC. Upon arrival I kindly asked an employee if I could plug in my scooter while I shopped. I figured this would be a no brainer for them. I charge my scooter & I shop. Meanwhile the employee I asked goes and checks with the boss. He comes and tells me as I’m looking at the vintage cards “ yeah my co worker told me you need to charge your scooter, but we’re not gonna be able to do that”. Needless to say I looked around real quick and went on my way. While I was there somebody else was getting a price on their cards and they offered 50%. I’ve bought around 1000$ worth of stuff from this store but I won’t be going back anymore. Learn how to treat your customers. If you’re thinking about going here. Think twice. My dog was home for HOURS alone. Bc you didn’t wanna let me charge my scooter. Psa: This is the first bad review I’ve ever left for any...
