This is a closed, brick-paved street lined with restaurants and higher-end boutiques. It's officially called Bethesda Lane, but is regularly called Bethesda Row. On the north end is Luke's Lobster and Le Pain Quotidienne, in the middle of the east side is Redwood restaurant, and on the west side are several women's fashion shops. On the south end of the lane is Blue Mercury, a gelato place, a wine shop, and a cast iron cookware shop. It's lit up from above with Edison lights and is a really nice stroll at night and during the day. In the spring and summer, Redwood puts out its outdoor seating and the area becomes a common space where lots of people sit and take their kids. Stores are always closing/opening up but there are some good old "hometown" favorites (like Fancy Cakes by Leslie). There is SO much to do here; whether you're grabbing a quick lunch at Sweetgreen (order ahead if you're going during a workday around lunch), headed to the gym, getting a tan, grocery shopping at Safeway, picking up a coffee (at the new Joe's or Starbucks). Bring your wallet though - and be prepared to spend a lot of money - if shopping! Lots of higher-end shopping around here. Target is a little further away (as well ast Trader Joes) if you're looking for alternative options to the more high-end stores...
Read moreI went to an Art Show in Bethesda Row in October 2018. It was great! Several local, national and even international artists had booths and paintings! I didnt investigate the prices but paintings and sculptures seemed to be high end. Many restaurants and coffee shops around in the area. There was I think close to 60 booths for various artists! Admission is free. Really close to Bethesda Metro station on the red line. There is also a trail near by right next to Ourisman Honda dealership if you decide to go on a stroll in this beautiful...
