Our destination was not Jenson Grove. We simply happened upon it when we went to meet some people in Blackfoot, Idaho. My first impression when I looked around was how pretty it looked. And the shade. I know shade sounds very simplistic and not exactly an attraction that would make someone visit a place. However after driving hundreds of miles in the heat and passing out once, just to pick up some new puppies, made the shade very welcome. The puppies enjoyed it for the brief amount of time we were there. We also found a place that appears to be a nice place to visit for a more extensive amount of time. I realize pretty and shade does not make for a perfect review. The idea of there being so many different, nice places for one to visit was sort of a wake up call. Simply this. Stop rushing through life and look around. Go exploring. There is much more to life than the hectic city and all the day to day craziness. When you do, you realize the world is made up of so many beautiful places and people. You just have to stop long enough to really notice. I hope my quirky little review will do to someone else what this little experience did for me. Don't miss something great because you're too busy...
Read moreI met my family there at Christmas and we went to the drive-by Nativity where horse-drawn carriages carried happy people around to the different scenes. It was a lovely, well run event. Many people were in attendance. It was well-organized so the long lines moved steadily along. There were barrels with fire to keep the crowds warm and hot cocoa and cookies afterwards. In the other seasons, there is a playground, picnic area, swimming area and also a frisbee golf course. There is a beautiful running/walking trail that goes around the perimeter of the park. There are plenty of parking spaces and it is close to fast food...
Read moreWe quite enjoy Jensen Grove. The long, paved walking trail goes around the lake and extends north for miles. Being paved, it's a great option for pushing strollers, or for kids on bikes (just watch them by the water).
There's also a decent little playground area, and a skate park (that we haven't used, but always seems quite popular).
We also frequently play the 9-hole disc golf course here. It's not a particularly challenging course, but it's fun and we always have a good time. It's set up in roughly a loop, so you finish where you started, which makes it easy to play several rounds in a row without a lot of...
