This rating is solely for this Disgustingly Uncouth Manager Alissa, or so she said. I pray she’s not the manager, I just had the sad pleasure of interacting with! She showed me who she was; now it’s customers be worn, find another manager it there’s an issue. Mine seemed so simple cause the customer is never right 🤨Alissa! Anyway just left Aldi never ever having an issue before matter of fact, one of our go to greats. I’m not sure if they have a new manger as I am only familiar with the shorter young lady who eventually stepped in to show me other options (wish I took her name, good should always take the spotlight). Went to my fav section, you know; the one w all the home decor varieties and so, the signs said $4.99 for the clear plastic organizer and the pumpkin pillows, oooh was I excited, apparently so excited that only one was the right item named tag but still to my dismay wrong size! Anyway the young man at the register alerted us that the names were wrong as I showed him the pic I ran back to take. Whilst feeling a lil deflated, I thought someone should change it, so it doesn’t give another customer that false sense of gaiety. I ushered the manager Alissa over to show her where the problem occurred and she reluctantly followed; I said to her that maybe you should move these cause I got excited for the price first, it was red highlighted tag she immediately stated that she didn’t have too, the tag must have fallen off and that was not her job 😡and I can’t be adding to her job, and they can read; meaning us the customers. She immediately infuriated me and such a simple suggestion fired her up and now I responded “we do this to each other always” relating to our ethic background then she said “we are in Bloomfield this not white people” I immediately regretted my decision to draw that reference, saying later it doesn’t matter if black or white it’s your customers, you should care about your customers and yourself not having to be aggravated that every customer will see that red tag the $4.99 sign before digging in to sort threw; well do they mean this one or this size, well it doesn’t say the size, omg seriously! I only calmed when the other manager stepped in and showed me what size they meant on the pumpkins despite all of them being thrown in one pile and the lil ones getting lost in the mix. I left wishing Alissa would get lost in the mix!! Common Aldi Upper management we can do better than this, A beautiful day almost ruined by this Aldi Ghost cause I’ve never seen her there.

Always join the longest line. The longest line is usually the one with the fastest cashier. A short line doesn't mean a slow cashier. It means a customer is holding up the line looking for their payment, their payment won't go through or did not take a shopping cart or carton box so now they have to take time move their grocery. Shopping bags are extra. If you are using mass transit, you may need to buy a few but now that you know, take along with you from another store. If you drive, just throw them in your trunk or back seat and don't forget to return your shopping cart for your quarter. You can also look for empty boxes to place your groceries. I like the size that seafood came in since it holds up well.

First time coming to ALDIs. People have raved about how affordable and convenient it is so I was excited. But I guess my expectations were too high. I didn’t need a cart but for people who do you need coins. They had to go inside to get change for this. Maybe have a bill change machine nearby? No real rhyme or reason for the layout. But I found the things I needed eventually. I got to checkout with three items and the cashier looked lifeless. One a positive note the the cookies I brought are so good! Highly recommend you buy them for yourself. Thankfully I can buy then elsewhere. This store has potential. I hope it gets better.

I will no longer be a customer due to the horrible treatment by management and employees.

Look at your reviews, your team is unprofessional and quite honestly, awful people.

Please review security camera footage for 8/17/24 between 8-8:30am ( or any day to see your team closing before the advertised close time)

I arrived prior to store close, approximately 8:25 after a 30 minute ride

John, manager on duty, should likely be in anger management training, potentially should be given in patient mental help. Realistically, if he struck me, I would not have been surprised

Hyper aggressive, incredibly rude. By FAR THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE INTERACTION I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE.

Would not let me speak.

Essentially threw me our of the store while you are advertised to be open

Doors were locked prior to 8:30

Registers were closed prior to 8:30

I arrived prior to 8:30

I drove 30 minutes one way knowing I would make it on time , to have a door locked early

The security guard let me in after I explained I needed to exchange the food to eat dinner, I have several health conditions and a strict diet, the food I bought hours earlier was spoiled.

The security guard let me in, had me explain the situation to woman cashier, who rolled her eyes, made a snide remark, and made me re-explain the situation to John.

She must have known he is an animal and the way he treats xustomers by the smirk and snide smile she made while saying to tell John.

Clearly, John has a reputation for being a loose cannon.

IF that is even his name, as lying would be one of Johns least concerning personality flaws

John was aggressive, rude and not listening.

He told me to shut up and listen to his long drawn out explanation about how the registers are closed and i can do it tomorrow ( even though i arrived before closing, and even though I could lisee the registers say close, John felt it was his right to tell me to shut up and listen to him ramble about how they can’t help me tonight and the registers are closed)

I simply stated, “i agree, that is fine, i just wanted to be sure to at least notify a manager tonight, so that when I come back tmr, you know I was serious and not making things up.”

The security guard started preparing to physically touch me, when all i did was arrive at aldi 5-7 minutes before they close to exchange some rotten groceries, because i have several medical conditions and am on an ultra strict diet. I needed the food for dinner.

If i knew how rude and evil john and team were, I would have driven to a different aldi location, or simply saved myself the hour of driving, time I could have spent with my family.

I will be following up with Aldi corporate, to see what actions are being taken to fix this horrible location, and this absolute horrible impact on the aldi brand, that clearly someone in corporate is...

Serious Concern Regarding Disrespectful Customer Service at Aldi – Bloomfield NJ

Good afternoon,

As a loyal and frequent customer who has shopped weekly at your Bloomfield Avenue, NJ location for the past four years, I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with the extremely poor and disrespectful customer service my wife and I received during a recent visit.

Today, while we were in line to use the self-checkout—as we always do—we were abruptly and disrespectfully stopped by an employee who told us we were not allowed to use self-checkout due to increased theft control measures. When I politely explained that I prefer self-checkout because I like to bag my own items (as my experience with cashiers often involves my products being handled roughly), the employee raised his voice and told me I had no choice but to do what he said or I wouldn’t be allowed to purchase the items in my cart.

I was shocked and disturbed not only by his tone but also by what I perceived as a threatening attitude. When I calmly asked for his name and to speak with the store manager, he responded rudely, saying, “I don’t have to give you my name. There is no store manager. Just do what I said.” I then proceeded to register 3 and asked the cashier about the manager. She confirmed that the same individual was the store manager — yet she refused to provide his name or hers.

Even more disturbingly, as I walked away, the individual continued speaking over me and made what I interpreted as a threatening statement: “I will deal with you next time.”

At that point, confused and upset, I asked another employee near the office for help. Fortunately, she contacted a manager named Latisha (or Laisha, if I’m not mistaken), who was professional and respectful, and who took the time to listen to my concerns. I appreciated her response.

However, the behavior I experienced from the first individual — identified as “John” — was completely unacceptable and deeply troubling. His conduct crossed a serious line, and I felt genuinely unsafe. This is the first time I have ever felt threatened in a retail environment.

As a resident of Bloomfield, I’ve chosen to shop at Aldi for its value and convenience. However, customer service is what truly differentiates retailers in a competitive market. I previously shopped at Lidl, where both pricing and the customer experience were consistently excellent. Despite noticing a decline in service, store cleanliness, and product variety at this Aldi location over the past several months, I continued to shop here — until now.

I sincerely hope Aldi will take this complaint seriously and address the incident appropriately. Customers — especially long-time, loyal ones — deserve to feel safe, respected, and valued in your stores.

Thank you for your attention to...
