Bloomfield Public Library — Attraction in Bloomfield

I am a student at Bllomfield College, and I loved to read! It was a very pleasent surprise that this library is right acorss the street from the college, right next to the BGR ("Burgers Grilled Right" resturant). The staff at this library are always kind and helpful, and very friendly. One of the best part of this library (perhaps THE best part) is the children's section is a sperate building all by itself!

This is a heaven for children and for me. They had a beautiful selection of books, and they have murals painted all over. In the picture book room, there is a mural of many children's book characters such as Peter Rabbit, The Little Engine That Could, The Cat in the Hat, Max and the WIld Things (Where The Wild Things Are) Curious George and many more. Another mural is of the Peanuts characters (with blessing from Charles Schultz himself!)

Bloomfield Children's Library, I'm referring to the Library where you access the steps going up to gain access. Shame on the state on NJ for having an operating Children's Library with old stained, ripped carpeting. This place is falling apart inside and in desperate need of a major renovation. Children are using this place and it's shameful. Exploiting the funding for the wrong causes and not the right is the signature of the state of NJ. The children should not suffer. Please everyone visit this place and see where the state funding is NOT going. Shame on you NJ, you shabby, insensitive, useless beasts....

I WALKED from my apartment building to the library hoping to print out documents, as I often do, and was sort of bombarded by the librarian about getting a library card and connecting it to local politicians seeing the number/increase of residents with active cards could be useful her tone was just very intense and she pretty much told me to go and do it. I didnt come prepaired to sign up just wanted a quick print. Maybe I would come back another day with what I needed in order to fulfill that but it just made me uncomfortable in such an open quiet space...so I'll...
