UPDATE: 9-13-23 Almost a year later. This place is always going to be hit or miss. I believe it has to be the turnover of staff. Only the main grill master has been there the full time. Someone really needs to take the senior lady with the all white hair and do 3 things. Teach her to speak up, how to use the computer to take orders and to pretend, at least, to have a personality. Like when I thank her for bringing my food after she threw it on the table to actually respond. I've been there 3 times in the last 2 weeks and each time she was completely in capable of punching in my order. I watch her try with other customers and she just can't get it. Finally, when it's 9:42 and you're closing the floor there's no reason to throw the chairs around. Maybe to make so much noise that customers will leave? Not me..the more noise you make the longer I"m staying. The food today was perfect. Hardly ever need to complain about that. I will say that the main grill cook had to take over taking my order from the senior lady and, at first, took her frustration out on me. She was so curt I was 2 seconds from walking away. She must of seen something on y face because she instantly went into customer service mode. Update: 9/3/22 FINALLY! Everything was perfect. Greeted nicely and professionally. Actually spoke clearly and looked at me. Had my order to the table in 9 minutes. There was no rough housing and screaming across the restaurant by staff. Food was perfectly prepared and delivered by the same man that took my order. Again, actually spoke to me and looked me in the eyes saying to let him know if there was anything else I needed.
Fruit flies were gone this time too. Later, the man that grilled my burger asked me if all was good which gave me the chance to let him know he did a good job.
If you read my other reviews you'll see I've really gone above and beyond to give this place a chance.
I've been 3 times. Each time the food is great. Only once was I impressed with the staff though. Went in last night about 8:00pm. Kisha never even looked at me. Had about as much interest in me as one would a pile of garbage. The cook was standing around behind her. Made eye contact with him and we did that "dude" nod of recognition. Cool. Placed my order and it seemed it took all the energy that Kisha could muster up to tell me what I owed. But...it wasn't enough energy because I couldn't hear her. I asked " How much"...good Lord....wait for it....finally loud enough for me to hear. Once she was finished with me I waited for her to give me my number for the table. NOPE...way too much energy needed expended for that. I said " I'll take one of the numbers is that ok? Nothing. I ask "Am I supposed to take a number".....finally, a barely audible grunt of approval. Off I go to my table. There was a family of 4 already there...waiting. 2 dudes standing around waiting for their order and myself. 18 minutes later, the family had not been completely served yet, nor had the two dudes, I received my oktoberfest burger. The guy that delivered it said my fries would be up next. 3 minutes later the big basket of fries arrived and just the way I like....blistering hot! The burger, as always was great.Loved the feeling of biting through the bratt then into the burger. Cheese and kraut set off the flavor nicely. About 4 bites into my burger, the family of 4 finally received all their food. I'm a slow eater. And, about the same time the 2 dudes got theirs and left. I LOVE the food here. But, is it really supposed to take 18 minutes to serve up the food with only 6 other people there? The 1st time I went things were fine. The last time I went, it was late, and I spent my time eating while the staff were horsing around behind the counter like middle school boys with a substitute teacher in for the day. 3 stars for...
Read moreMUST read if you're thinking of trying this spot. I passed this place numerous times and finally decided to stop in to try it with a friend on a Friday around 7pm. I was shocked to see how empty it was when I walked in "that should've been my hint" but I figured since it was the weekend after Christmas people might not be out. We order the mushroom n swiss burger on a pretzel bun with sweet potato fries, southwestern burger with french fries and an order of buffalo wings. Everything came out of the freezer straight to the grill / fryer. Wait time was about 10 mins to get the food from the time we ordered since it was empty. Let's start with the wings; super soggy and lacked flavor which is the typical frozen wings you get from a supermarket. Next the burger; the buns were cold as if they were sitting in the fridge, the patties were over cooked and the toppings tasted old as if they were sitting there all day. The french/sweet potato fries; flavorless and dry. Overall it was below average fastfood. Now let's talk about customer service and cleanliness! The cashier was trying to provide a good service but it was super hard to understand him with his super low voice! After I finished eating I realized he was also the assistant cook grabbing the food with the same gloves he used to bring up the order and count the money! My friend pointed out how they had the burger buns sitting on a wheel crate in the hallway next to 2 full bags of garbage by the bathroom! I wonder if the owner is aware of what's going on in his establishment! The place needs better...
Read moreWent to a family event with my 10 yr old daughter in Bloomfield on Broad St. I was glad to see they were selling burgers because I heard of this burger joint and looked forward to try it. When purchasing my meal a young male cashier took my $20 bill put it up to the sky and proceeded to say he didn't think the money was real that it looked counterfeit. My daughter gave me a look because all she was interested in was getting her burger. Another worker began to explain to him that it was real. I was embarrassed because I work hard for my money and yes I'm aware you can get counterfeit money from anywhere, but I felt he put us in a category and it really annoyed me. Next time you guys do an event, make sure to provide your workers with the necessary items to distinguish whether a bill is legit or not instead of raising a bill to the sky and saying aloud you feel it's counterfeit. I honestly wanted to hand them the burger back but when your dealing with a hungry 10yr old, you have to do what you have to do. BTW the burger...
