Atmosphere: 5 I love how open the restaurant is. There's plenty of seating available, but it was quite empty despite it being a Sunday afternoon when we went. Ordering through the touch order screen is easy. Not all the items on the menu has a photo though. Not that each item needed it, but from a user and design POV, it's inconsistent.
Portion: 4 The portion is pretty standard, and the price is pretty on par with what I see in other restaurants. Specifically, I'm talking about the size of the drinks. In terms of ingredient portion, the takoyaki has very small pieces of octopus in it compared to the actual size of the takoyaki ball. At first, I thought there wasn't even any in it! For a pack of 6, it was pretty expensive for flavored dough with a tiny octopus. The size of the tapioca is tiny! The texture is also a bit hard so maybe it's a little undercooked.
Flavors: 2 Everything about their food is sweet. I ordered my drinks with 30% sugar and it tastes like it was the regular level of sugar. They were super sweet. The crab soup was more sweet than salty. It was also very milky. I felt like I was drinking flavored milk rather than crab soup. Not much crab/seafood flavor either so I'm not sure what I'm paying for. I think that if you're ordering drinks, be sure to order it at 0% sugar.
I am not sure that I'd go there again. My husband and I were in town and wanted to grab some drinks and snacks to have at home. After eating their food, my stomach feels heavy. Probably because of all the milk and sugar in their food. For having spent nearly $60, we were pretty disappointed with everything. If you're a fan of super sweet food, maybe this is the place for you. Otherwise, I'd advise the chefs to go 75% lighter with all the sugar. The staff was nice and laid...
Read moreBoyfriend and I frequent Good Guy’s so when we stopped by yesterday, we were surprised to see a new restaurant sign lit up right next door! To our pleasant surprise, we ordered through DD tonight and were extremely thrilled with the new nearby option. So much so that our delivery driver even thanked us for ordering it so he now can order it himself!
Steak hibachi: very very good and a good portion. Little pricey but for hibachi, it’s nothing crazy. Rice could use more soy sauce but they provide packets for you.
Customized poke bowl: VERY good but I’d say they don’t give as much protein as my regular salmon bowl from Playa Bowl. I added wasabi Mayo expecting it to give the bowl a kick but I wish it had just a bit more of heat or they added more to compensate for that. Tomatoes on a poke bowl is new for me so I also opted out of that - would be great if you took this out altogether and added wasabi peas in the mix for toppings. But just a thought!
Ginger salad: very good!
Strawberry lemonade tea: phenomenal! Added strawberry boba which makes a great addition and chose to only do 50% sugar which gave it a nice tanginess with the sweetness. Will definitely be ordering...
Read moreOrdered from here yesterday, and it was an excellent experience. I had the Samon Lover bowl and all of the components were very fresh and beautifully presented. The fish was flavorful and the veggies and toppings were perfect - nice and crisp, bright colors (I love vegetables and I hate when they look and taste like they’ve been sitting around too long). The rice was perfectly cooked and the pickled ginger was absolutely delicious, definitely tasted homemade. I called ahead before placing the order online to ask if the Spicy Mayo was gluten free. The person I spoke to (I think it was the owner) was very kind and assured me that it was safe to eat. The Spicy Mayo was definitely house made and they even included a few packets of Gluten Free soy sauce in my bag. So thoughtful!I enjoyed this meal so much and did not get sick. I’ve had poke bowls many times before in different places, this was solid and will absolutely be my new favorite. The takeout experience was great but the restaurant is beautiful and very clean inside so I am sure that Dine-In would be a pleasure as well....
