It is pretty bad when a department store screws up and won't help out its customer. My wife purchased a baby Carters outfit back in November as a Christmas gift for our nephew. However, when she went to wrap it up as a gift yesterday we found the security tag still attached but obviously deactivated since the alarm did not go off when she left the store. So the cashier rung up the item, deactivated the tag but forgot to remove it. Thus, TJ Maxx is liable to help us out. However, my wife never had any intention of returning the item and hates receipts so she discarded it when she arrived at home that day, never noticing the security tag attached until now. The manager was completely unhelpful over the phone or whomever I talked to. It is completely their fault the tag was removed but they won't let me come in to get it removed. RIDICULOUS! I will never shop there again. I am sure i can provide proof of purchase with a credit card printout but it would not have the individual items on it. TJ Maxx you get a big fat ZERO for not helping your customer out. These are the kind of things that in the long run kills a retail store and this one can go down burning...
Read moreThis review is solely for the jewelry department. I went to purchase perfume because tj maxx has the best price I have found on the perfume I purchase. It’s usually a hit or miss if they have it in stock. I had to wait for someone to bring the key because Ursula didn’t have one, only for the jewelry counter. Not that I feel I shouldn’t have to wait but if the item is going to be locked up near the jewelry I should have been able to pay at the counter. The associate with the key asked Ursula the sea witch if I could pay at the counter she looked me dead in the eyes and said only if she’s buying jewelry. This TJ Maxx location use to be my favorite and I have never had an issue purchasing perfume at the counter. It was one item, why should I have to go wait 45 mins in their long lines, the store is so under staffed and unorganized. You can always tell based on the store if they have a good management team, clearly this one...
Read moreI would give them half start if I could.. my sister and I purchaced a toy from a store in Hoffman states however when we got home we notice the toy was broken (it was sealed, never open and we didn't notice the damage) we went to either returned it or exchage it at this location. The manager was super rude with us saying that she couldn't do anything because it was damaged (duh it came damaged from the store) and that we should go to the store we brought it from (which is far). After me asking why they couldn't take the item and if that was in their return policy the manager finally agreed to accept the return as an "exception" (after saying that she was gonna lose money for doing so and making it sound like it was our fault). They should work in their customer service! and need a new more competent manager. Never...
