First let me start off by saying I give my SERVER 5 🌟 's, AND NOTHING ELSE. I am extremely appalled and felt extremely disrespected by the owner of this location. I'm out here on business and staying down the street for a month. I had planned on visiting this location multiple times while I'm out here. But after the experience I just had, I'll never return to this location. I ordered the 12 Oz fort worth ribeye with a potato and side salad. The server (bartender because I was alone and sat at the bar to eat) asked if I wanted tomatoes, croutons and eggs... I replied yes. The the ribeye was suppose to be medium. The salad came and I was busy on my phone so I was not paying much attention. The extremely attentive and courteous server tried to fix the problem before I noticed (a very smart customer service thing to do, if the problem was fixes before I notice there wouldn't have been a problem) by immediately going to the kitchen and informing them. Unfortunately, instead of being praised for her attention to detail and trying to fix a mistake I did not notice, SHE GOT YELLED AT! WHAT KIND OF CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THAT WHEN A SERVER TRIES TO FIX A PROBLEM BEFORE THE CUSTOMER NOTICES AND GETS YELLED AT FOR IT??? MAKES NO SENSE! Carrying on I finished EDITING MY SOCIAL MEDIA VIDEO (you don't want me to put this on social media, my followers would destroy the TEXAS ROADHOUSE NAME) and grabbed my salad. Poured the dressing on and starting mixing with my fork only to notice there were 0 eggs, tomatoes or croutons. I spoke to the server about it and she got it fixed and made me feel important and had great customer service skills. As I was waiting for my main course, I noticed a gentlemen that was also sitting at the bar (total of 3 people, including myself) had complained that his steak was also wrong and had to return it. Now that's 2 mistakes from 2 out of the 3 people sitting at the bar. But in my head, I still believed I could enjoy the main course when it arrived. I WAS WRONG! Then I got my steak and started eating it. Eating the edge of the steak seemed fine. It was good and cooked the way I like it.... until I got to the middle. The middle was extremely mushy and RED, not pink as the menu described. I asked the server how she would describe this steak being cooked showing her the middle. She replied honestly with "medium rare to RARE! So now in my head that is 3 mistakes between 2 different people within a 15 min time frame. At that point I couldn't let it go and asked to speak to a manager. A couple minutes later the OWNER (he claims but I can't confirm) brings me another steak with potato (at this point I'm over it). I start voicing my concerns with him about 3 food order mistakes of 2 different people sitting about 5-10 ft from each other and that I could only imagine how many other orders were screwed up. He started getting upset with me and showing an aggressive demeanor trying to justify the mistakes blaming it on being busy and trying to serve "X" amount of people could be challenging. I'm sorry but I don't care how busy you are, if the kitchen can't read a simple ticket showing the customer wants croutons, egg and tomato in their salad then I believe the problem is not the amount of people. The problem is the kitchen staff isn't paying attention to what they are doing. I would've been more understanding if the only error was my steak, as cooking a steak is much harder than grabbing a pre-made side salad. I continued the conversation trying to find out how he will fix this problem (not my specific plate but the lack of preparing orders correctly). I wanted to know because like I said, I'm in town for a month and enjoy the Texas roadhouse out by where I live so I planned on going here often during my month long business trip. The "owner" did not want to hear anything I had to say, he consistently interrupted what I was trying to say and instead of minimizing my anger, he poured gas on it and my anger intensified. He made me feel unimportant and in few words basically told me to...
Read moreThe food was good and everything, but my reason for the rating was focused on the wait time. Important information No Reservations. Only wait list.
I went to this location to celebrate my grandmother's birthday of almost turning 90. Because our party was bigger than 6 people, I called a few hours beforehand to be added to the wait list for 4:30pm. The hostess on the phone reminded me that it was not a reservation and that we would still have to wait some time when we arrived. I was alright with that. I received the text message to confirm, and we headed over.
Once we arrived at around 4:15pm, half of our party was running late (about an hour behind due to traffic). I went inside with my father to tell the hostess the situation.
This is the important part They told us that, as long as the half of the party orders food, they can sit us while the rest of the party arrives. I said that was perfect with us. They confirmed that I was added on the waitlist (I received the text confirming it) and that I can wait outside while the tables gets ready. (The lobby was packed, which was understandable.)
So I told the news to our half of the party and the other half on the phone and we waited in the car. (My grandmother is with us.) Around 30 minutes go by with no status update. I go back inside and ask them an estimate on the wait for the table. They simply said that they're waiting for the table to open up and they'll let me know through text. I went back to the car and waited.
20 more minutes go by and nothing. My grandma began to feel physical discomfort for sitting in the car for so long. (It's also in November, so the weather is chilly at night and we can't have my grandma be outside of the car.) I went back inside and explained to them the situation. They still said they're still waiting for the other table. (I also notice that the lobby has gotten less busy, suggesting that either they've left outside or got seated.)
We wait in the car, the other half of our party arrives and we just get tired of it and all go inside. We tell the hostess that if the tables are ready or not because we're all here. They repeated the question of we were all here twice before finally getting escorted to the table.
Yes. Table. They made it sound like they were waiting to put together 2 tables for us. But no, what we ended up was a corner booth table to fit us all. Why so much wait for a singular table and no estimate time that it would take over an hour to get seated???
The food was good and our server was wonderful, but the experience from just getting a table was horrendous to where our dinner was pretty much soured, and my grandma still felt the pain of waiting for so long.
To be sure, we're never coming back due to its lack of transparency and communication.
(By the way, I never got the text message that the...
Read moreThe food was good, but in all honesty it was not something that made me go "Wow". If you are trying to gain weight you should def. visit this place. Most of the items on the menu have a substantial amount of butter and are fattening. Even when I got a house salad as a side, it had a generous amount of cheese on it (cheddar, which I do not eat ,but since it was my first time I didn't think a side salad would have cheese in it , so it was my mistake for not asking). If you are hungry you should also go here, the portions are generous. I got the famous ribs , which were good ,but I have had very much the same at home. Maybe my expectations were too high. My fiance got the rib eye steak , it came with sauted mushrooms on top, those mushrooms were the most delicious part of our meal. As a starter we got the fried pickles ... They were interesting in taste ,but something in the breading didn't quite work for me. So overall the food was good. Price wise , I don't know how I feel about it. It was $120 for two people, two main courses, the pickles , a beer and a glass of wine..... I liked the atmosphere and the service ,but I had two problems with them. Number 1, we were charged $1.99 (which is not a lot ,but still I feel it was NOT right) for appearently playing on the tablet which was on the table. Well, we didn't play at all. The tablet was in the middle of the table, my fiance pressed a few buttons to activate it and see what's on it (since it was our first time there we didn't know there would be a "playing game charge". It's not so much about the $1.99 ,but it rubbed me off the wrong way. Maybe the server should have warned us, or they should clearly state on the table that a charge would be billed if you touch it. Mind you , we could have reduced the tip for this stupid charge, but we didn't , we let it go, but it left a bitter taste. Hence the one star reduction for atmosphere . The second thing was, my fiance got some meat stuck between his teeth. When we asked our server if they had toothpicks , she was just like "yeah , up front by the door". We were all the way on the other side of the restaurant, done with the meal and finishing our drinks. So close to leaving, but not quite ready. I guess she expected us to get up and get it ourselves. I just wished she had taken the initiative to get a damn toothpick for us. Hence, I didn't feel like she was trying to excel at serving us. We did leave more than 20% tip, but I wish she had gotten us a toothpick. So overall, a good place ,but considering my healthy eating habits and the experience, I do not think we will go there often. I might visit again,...
